What is the best spark plug for carbon fouling?

It was years ago, so I don't remember the specifics, but essentially the bottom of one of hte ports on the valley pan wasn't sealing completely. Checking for a vacuum leak around hte carb and intake manifold as we'd normally do gave null results. But one cylinder's port was sucking a little air...

    66 Fury rear tire size

Do you have fenderskirts? The latches on those limit tire size a bit. There's a huge thread on here called 'exactly what wheels and tires fit on C-bodies' or something like that. Browsing that might help.

Question about a stuck 326 Dodge engine

When the person on hte breaker bar is pushing clockwise - is that from their POV, or yours at the rear of the engine? Keep in mind an engine can also get stuck due to other rusted parts besides piston rings. If you are turning the engine the rotation of when it is when running, a stuck valve...

Emissions era air injection tube rusted off manifold

I doubt you have clearance, but pipe taps in that dia (1/4 or 3/8?) would be pretty short and you might be able to tap it for JustCarbs pipe plug. But - starting threads always seems difficult unless you have a straight shot and can put a double-handle tool on them. Doing with a wrench or...

What is the best spark plug for carbon fouling?

Did you see my post#11 on the leaking valley pan? It can allow oil to be sucked into a cylinder, and I believe does not cause a vacuum leak, either.

NOT MINE 69 Newport 6.4 Hemi

I'm betting that if you really dig into the work that's already been done, you'd find you need to start over with a different car. Like looking at a house to buy and then seeing the basement is comprised of blocks, rocks and paver blocks.

    NOT MINE 1969 Chrysler 300 440 Convert$5,500$6,000 · In stock

So did they take the jackstands out on the grass, knowing they would be useless there, or did they learn that during??? The interior on this one, what we can see, looks to be a real selling feature. Seats look like the vinyl might still be soft. Looks like a good price on this one. It's...

Need advice for improving brake performance on my 1963 300 Pacesetter

I hear what you're saying, but at the same time, how is a guy supposed to know what's good and what's garbage? Price isn't enough - sometimes junk is sold for inflated prices, sometimes good things start out low to get a foothold in the market. In the old days you could count on NAPA - but...

While I understand/support not posting or pursuing a car if a member is known to already be on it, we shouldn't NOT post a car just because there's a possibility a member might be pursuing it. If we did follow that reasoning, we would never post anything.

    when to use Loctite

There are numerous products under the locktite brand, some are threadlockers, some are adhesives, some are sealants. Even amongst the threadlocking type, there are several - discussing the capability and after-effects is meaningless without knowing the formula #. I would not use any when...

Steel Rims - 1969 Chrysler T&C Which to use? 7 inch or 7-1/2 inch width ?

Just looked at those last night, they are $1000 a set of 4. Considering reproduction 15x7 standard wheels are $175 each, that's not a bad price.

    "Special" Editions

I noticed some of those things, but what I noticed immediately is that the proportions of the car are not flattering. I wondered if it was an air-cooled, rear-engine setup or something. The front end design of grille, headlight bezels, bumper, etc is fabulous. The back 3/4 view is not good...

    General A727 Potential R&R questions/suggestions.

I have seen diesel-engine torsionals break a transmission, but it always happened to a component that was loaded when torque converter lockup clutches were applied, and the damper springs on that clutch were not effective to dampen the torsionals. And when it happened it was always traced to an...

    Disc brake conversion kits

Mine happened from putting 235-60 tires on teh front of an 80 Cordoba. Hose rubbed on the tire. Apparently it took awhile of the right steering/suspension conditions allowing the rub (as I found out afterward). Had to do a hard stop and the hose burst. Hit car #1 about 30mph - pushed it into...

    General A727 Potential R&R questions/suggestions.

No, this was in pre-production durability testing, AFAIK no bad designs ever made production. What was durable for 1 MY of production might not be good enough for the next year. 2010 brought a ~50hp increase, and IIRC that's where the trouble started. We started cracking them, and they sent a...

    Disc brake conversion kits

If you are driving and get into some type of emergency evasive action, make a hard swerve with the brakes and put fluid pressure inside the hoses, one of them might fail. Might take years to experience such a situation, when you've forgotten all about this. If you've ever had a front hose or...
