    Rear leaf spring questions

They went from 5 leafs to 7, and say the ride quality didn't change much. How is it not going to ride like a truck?

11 by 2 inch rear smooth drums

Are you sure that your rear shoes are only 2 inches wide? I think they're going to be 2.5" wide. Unless I missed it, Rock Auto doesn't show any '64 Savoy or any '65 Fury with 11 x 2" rear shoes.

Right tools for the job! Rebuilt my front upper and lower control arms.

I'm also working on upper and lower control arms. I removed the outer shell on the lowers by using a chisel and hammer to fold the shell inwards, with a stack of close-fitting washers under it, then pressing on the washers from the other side, re-folding the shell as necessary. At one point I...

    Car cover advice

You hear a lot about covers being able to "breath". I think that language comes from the world of human outdoor wear, jackets, etc. People perspire, you can't wrap them in water or vapor-impermeable materials or you will get condensation on the inside surface. It's a huge deal for...

    Car cover advice

Indoor style car cover then over that, polyethelene 6-mil vapor barrier. I place a high value on keeping the car dry, and vapor barrier does that. Some trays of silica gel beads for humidity control (not needed for only a couple of months). Cover your car with a sheet of vapor barrier...

Who's going to WPC meet in Windsor, Aug 6-11?

Unless something comes up, I'll plan on being there. If I get the work done on my Monaco that I plan on between now and then, it will be there too. I don't need a hotel room, if I stay overnight it would be in my old bedroom!

Can someone ID this front sub-frame?

These are photos from the stub frame I'm working on now - this is not the frame in the earlier photos in this thread (painted black) that I think is a '65 Fury frame with wedge engine mounts. The photo below shows a couple of stamped numbers, on the underside near the front corners: RMK18 2...

WANTED Five Mopar police steelies - 15" x 7" and matching hubcaps

These are 15 x 6.5 so you prob. don't want them, but I'm wondering if these are suitable for C-body's / slab cars (ie if their back spacing is correct): https://www.kijiji.ca/v-tires-rims/ottawa/2001-2007-chrysler-mini-vans-2-15-inch-x-6-1-2-inch-steel-rims/1597538719

NOT MINE 1967 Chrysler Imperial Crown 4dr. Hardtop

Being sold by the California Auto Museum, which I see was already thin on Chrysler vehicles. They are also selling a '37 Chrysler Airflow. They are very much not fans of any Mopar cars.

I read that copper washers have been recommended for this sort of thing.

I've got oil coming up through 2 intake bolts

Is that an oil passage that the bolt is threaded into? A blind hole into the crank case? Is oil leaking (being forced up) past the bolt shoulder and through a gap between the shoulder and the opposing surface of the manifold bolt-hole? Or is oil leaking from the valve cover gasket and just...

    I am at a Crossroads

I have to ask - what factor is working against you keeping the car? a) your age (or ability to actually drive the car) b) the ongoing cost to keep the car safe and sound AND to drive it occasionally Is passing the car down to family a possiblity? Is it more important that the car gets a good...

Question about 1967 Chrysler 300 fender tag

Indeed, the VIN is CM23K73140242 This '67 300 is being offered as a parts car along with a '68 Polara 500 with 318. The Polara is apparently still functional but needs some stub-frame r&r from the pics I see. It has a 318, hence the 300 would act as the donor car for the engine and power...
