I answer to myself. I used SoffSeal E202. Slightly smaller than the original but still 80% bolt on job. There was up to 3/16" height difference between different batches of the seal. Glass adjustment had to be done.

    Automatic Height Control repair

Interesting comment, since I find the substitution particulary uninteresting. The replacement unit is like 1:1 original unit and bolts right on place - Just to let anyone know. After watching MTSC multiple times and taking note of every word and frame I came up with the solutions to my problems...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Has anyone rebuilt Amplifier themselves? There's only few "Through hole" components on PCB and there has to be an electrican here. If single component has been visibly fried, it could be replaced, right? There is not even potting material to be removed. PCB schematic with component information...

    Auto temp 2 :(

More information: Better picture of Defrost Actuator installed with shims. Located over the throttle pedal. Other option is to bend the bracket but I thought that would risk ripping off the heater case. My system was missing the vacuum tank initially. 71-73 Ford Vacuum Can would be very...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Easiest test: Transfer switch and recirculating door actuator. I suspect these don't fail very easily. After these the vacuum control switch and then remove the dash and refer to FSM. Check valves are at this area. They are also easy to test.

    Auto temp 2 :(

Thanks. I share my observations in case someone finds something helpful out of them. If there's any detail I can share that helps others, please let me know. I answer to my own question - Yes. The valve's internal function is as drawn. I managed to disassemble the faulty valve with pipe cutter...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Hello I'm repairing 1978 ATC II and I borrow Your thread. I found #1 Check Valve defective on my system. I did the test prochedure of 1978 FSM page 24-119 - symptoms were just as described. Part # 2820 880. While sourcing for original one, I'm interested in substituting the valve with...

    Plug wires.

Thanks for Your thoughts. I answer to myself after more research: #3 and #8 This case is resolved. Dealership data book shows small picture of the engine showing microscopic detail of left bank routing. #3 has 135deg boot avoiding the dipstick tube. #8 goes nicely through single bracket...

    Automatic Height Control repair

Update on this progress. To clarify the situation: This kind of items are not available right off the shelf here in Europe. I ordered new delay type height control valve Hadley H450CE equivalent, which bolted right on the place. I emphasize that this is cheap aftermarket part. I found no delay...

    Plug wires.

Hello. I'm borrowing this old thread since the title is very generic. Sorry. I'm refreshing 78 440 on New Yorker Bourgham and currently installing spark plug wires. I have Standard brand 7183 set which has 2 wires with almost straight plug end boots (in picture hanging on #1 and #3). Other 6...

    Automatic Height Control repair

Hello. Thanks for all of Your contribution. There were numerous options for alternative compressor. I'm afraid there's no junkyard with Panther Platform Ford (or any interesting car whatsoever) sitting around in my part of the World. I may proceed with the new product solution if necessary. If...
