Sharon Tate was an easy one. Actress, director and 1969 made it easy. Even easier is that Spahn Ranch, where some of the Manson Family liked to hang out between 1968-1970 was 5 miles, as the crow flies, from where I lived. The ranch on the north end of the Chatsworth Park North and my family on...

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

the steering wheel in both of my C bodies is way too loosey goosey for me. It is extremely easy to steer. I’m used to firmer steering. Are you saying that I can replace the springs to achieve a firmer (more effort than using my pinky) steering feel? If this is true, where do I get or how do I...

Choke unloader adjustment Carter 11/2 BBD

I have a problem with my choke unloader on my 67 Fury with a 383 and 1 1/2 BBD. It is only opening 1/8 inch it should be 1/4 inch. The instructions say to bend the tang or lever . The tang or the lever is about 1/8 inch thick metal. How do you bend this without screwing up the carburetor? I...

It will be obvious if there is any movement within the bracket to rubber or bearing to rubber. It all has to come out to do u-joints anyway so, if you are unsure, take pics and post them here, lots of help available with this group!

yeah Chris, i did more clues because like Alan pointed out ... this girl is difficult to get from the pics alone. i picked her at an age where i expected her to look more like the girl on the submarine i built as a lad (1962). something about the eyes --- usually dead giveaways of consistency...

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

The reaction spring assembly controls the effort needed to activate the power steering. One set of springs will make it turn with very little effort at the steering wheel. Another set will make it require more effort. If you have a set for a firm feeling, you will have to apply more torque to...

    anyone try Valvoline VR1

I have Driven oil in both my old cars. Vr-1, as was sated, is not recommended for cars that get put in storage as it does not have the anti-rust properties needed.

1963 Imperial Carrier Bearing on Drive Shaft

I just rebuilt mine and CBODY67 is correct about removal. You can remove the assembly from either side and I did mine from the driver's side. It is a knuckle buster due to tight clearances but pretty simple overall. Give yourself plenty of room to work by putting it up high on ramps or stands...

New Game This one probably favors older players, but enough, hopefully in the clues, for anyone to zero in on her if you didn't come to know her in the 1950's-1970's. Age 93 (ninety three). Actor and Singer. Arizona girl originally. Her age clearly indicates she's beem around a while...

1963 Imperial Carrier Bearing on Drive Shaft

How do I know if the carrier bearing is bad. The car only has 25,000 original miles. The mechanic said he can move the drive shaft up and down at the bearing. I thought that was normal amount of movement. Should there be no movement at that location? Thanks
