Machining work 516 heads port work/bigger valves/hardened seats??

Agreed. Anybody can do things 'the right way' by throwing enough money at it. I'm always more intrigued by guys who make things work.

Machining work 516 heads port work/bigger valves/hardened seats??

I agree, that rebuilding a 361 is not worthwhile - unless doing 'an Uncle Tony' to make it a non-oil burner and minimize cost. There's no panache of doing a 361, unless it was a #s matching original Sonoramic Commando crossram engine. If going thru a machine shop, do a 383 or 400 to get hte...

Whitewalls with poverty caps - pics?

A car that can wear WW, steelies and dogcaps says a lot about the car, and the owner that chooses to put them there. A person that calls their own shots, and does what they like - not what others tell them to do. (I like the look)

Catastrophic Rim Failure; Factory Original 14" Stamped Steel Rim

FWIW - I have seen such a failure once before, in my childhood. Was on a homemade farm wagon that used an axle from a pickup truck (and probably no springs, although I really don't remember that part). My uncle was hauling logs with it on a PA mountaintop, on a rough trail with lots of rocks...

NOT MINE 1969 Polara 500 convertible (B3 now dark blue, $12k ask)

It's hard to tell how good/bad the paint and body guy is because he sure needs to hire a photographer. On 2nd thought - the photographer knew exactly how to photograph this car...

I'll send you an email. But - remove your email address and other personal ID info on webpages, there are bots that webcrawl looking for ____@______.com, .net, etc, looking for addresses to harvest. That's what people say, anyway. To free up conversation space: Click the envelope icon on...

WANTED 65-68 Power Disc Brake Pedal Assembly And Firewall Support Plate

IIRC, the later boosters will work with column shift, except that you might not get the shifter down into 1st, possibly 2nd also. So that may not be an issue for some driving styles.

NOT MINE 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury "Super Commando" 4 Speed

From the ad: "Do not let this old paint job fool you! The body is straight, and rust-free!" That's a euphemistic way of saying 'the most expensive part of the restoration has not yet done." IMHO, this car was probably a pretty fair buy at the original ~$12k price. But no longer.

    Welcome, furiousbabe

In that case, Pittsburgh should have a welding shop that can TIG-weld a crack? New sending units are available for ~$75, but reportedly they aren't always accurate. Some resistors wired in series to the fuel gauge can sometimes correct that, but it's a trial/error iterative process. Always...

    Welcome, furiousbabe

@furiousbabe (@ayilar) C-bodies are all similar yet so many subtle differences, based on where the fuel filler is. 65 Fury tank and filler tubes are 1 year only, and Fury only, because it fills thru the driverside quarterpanel and thru the rear framerail. The only C-body to do this. Some...

    Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

This one was FS on FB or CL awhile back for a much lower price, it is now in the hands of 'the broker market'. My memory of it back then was that it seemed to be a mostly-honest car. I haven't bothered to read any further on it now, so have no opinion on what BS a broker might be spouting on it...

    "Special" Editions

Other than the plaid seat inserts, I see very little Fox in that one. I actually see modern Camaro more than Fox. Which is kinda funny, because the Fox chin spoiler and rear spoiler could've been emulated if they had chosen to do so?

65 Sport Fury 383 Power Steering Pump

I don't know the application difference in location of the return fitting, but IIRC some take a much larger hose (~5/8") and newer ones of this style take an 11/32" hose (just under 3/8"). My 65s have the huge hose, my 68 has the smaller. If I were in a bind, I'd take what I could find if all...

Well, the body lines on the passenger side are super-straight at least. The rest of it shouts 'run away!' though.

    NOT MINE '65 Ghia Limo.

Prolly needs to be 1/2 that price to get in the ballpark. The pool of folks able/willing to work such a car, and with sufficient resto resources (and have sufficiently-long storage space), is a very short list. Made even shorter as those folks are getting older, and may not have the time left to...
