Matts Garage

Things come and flow......

General Information

Starting out with a Newport 68 Convertible it somehow seems to be a magnet for more cars.

recently i was offered another one of the same, but without drivetrain, as it was needed for a Polara 66 convertible project. So, we agreed on a price, and i was supposed to pick up the car after the summer, once the guy found the time to pull the drivetrain.

So after one months my phone rings, and as life goes, his new job left no time, and after 5 years he decided that it will never happen, and now i am the owner of 2 projects.

As the Polara is the classic basket case, we will have to see how quick that one goes, also some parts are missing or beyond reasonable salvage, so i have to start to source them on a budget.

Living in Quebec brings also the winter where all cars should be inside, otherwise they will die an accelerated death.

Mopar converts are like crack, one hit is never enough.

It is more like they erase your capability to say no, if someone says the magic words: I know someone who was one like that for sale, cheap..... And you think like, naa, I should not , but you say, yeah, sure, I might as well take a look at it....... And the next thing you know is you have at least one more, and if you are truly lucky a garage full of parts from years of hoarding.... And then the true fun begins...

Looks like you got a couple projects to keep you busy. Don't we all. Best of luck with the restos, please keep us updated. I really like Newport convertible in the 1st pic.
