Body metal in good shape. Too bad these AZ cars get so hammered by the sun. Upholstery work is damn expensive and I can't do it compared to doing body work. Out here each bench seat would be around $1000-1200 to do. Headliners around $500-600. Door panels I have no idea. Thank god no vinyl roof. The poor dash pad is another story.

Well, of course, the difference is night and day depending. Or should I say California vs. New Jersey.

Get a New Jersey car with a great interior, and mate it with a great Western US car with a superb body.

Thats not what I am saying....

Simply, I had a western car that needed an interior, $900.00 and I got both front and rear seats done nicely. That same western car needed some metal work, around the rear window, quarters, fender..... Thats thousands of dollars and time locating solid parts. Point is a hammered interior wouldnt stop me from buying a solid car, but I would run from a rusty car with a perfect interior

Buy both the solid car and rusty car, swap in the good interior, voila!

Perhaps, have to be one Hell of a parts car. I'd rather spend that cash on an interior re do

I like the medium way.
A little bit of rust and a little interieur work is fine.

My CHP Polara is really rough inside thanks to 39 years of CA sun before I got it.
Even I (and I am an originality guy) don't feel comfortable with the interieur "as is".

On the other hand I have a 69 Chrysler 300 2dr From Ohio and Indiana. The frame rails were still solid back in 2007. But the quarters were rusty, trunk extensions gone, outer wheelhouses completely gone, inner wheelhouses rusted, rear extension rusted, trunkfloor rusty, all inner floors completely gone, rust in front fenders and the front valancevalance.

We spent 170 hours welding on the car. Not a concours resto but we cut out all the rust (despite bottom of rear window, didn't want to touch the nice v-roof) and replaced it with new metal. No bondo on the car anywhere. But the interieur was fine for me.
Of course I have more money in it than it is worth but heck, it is my hobby, I wanted this car in Q4 turquoise and no other 300. I am happy with it till today and don't want to miss it

From my experience the prices you estimate here are the same in Wisconsin. This would be a high quality work and look as it was new when done.
