I love it...but not at $12,500. I had 7 R bodies over the years as daily drivers and thought they were great.

Yes, it had a cool data plate under the hood, not often that you see something like that done. I wonder if the last 75 Imperial had something like that?

Let's see..
18 hundred for the car,
A grand for the interior,
A few hundred more for the heater core and other minor trinkets,
After all that it would need a $3,000.00 new paint job that would befit the car,

All for a 25-hundred dollar car.
Could have been a C-body.

And I'd do it. Love that car.

I sent a request to Chrysler a year or two ago to find out the data on the last C-Body produced. They didn't have a clue (no one cared she said) if it was a New Yorker or a Newport and any other info on the last "C" produced such as model, color, interior or anything special about the last one and where it ended up. Nope! Nothing! Couldn't even tell what the last day of production was for the almighty "C" and the last Full Size American hardtop ever produced......

Steve or Doug have any knowledge or any contacts to find this out maybe?

My '79 NY that I sold in 2008 was in a LOT better shape than this car - and I got $1,650 for it. I think $1,800 is high for this one. I'd spend the money on the Steinbrenner car (celebrity ownership offers zero to me, other than a documentable ownership path, in most cases) and be a happy camper. You'd easily spend $10K refurbishing the California car and likely not have one as nice as a car that is available and ready to go now.
