which is correct spring pulling forward or backward -illustration or picture ???

I have always used spring pulling backward to keep the back of the kickdown slot engaged with the throttle linkage stud

Some applications have the spring on the front and some at the rear, as long as the spring keeps the slotted rod against the pin on the throttle.

I need this rod....what is the part # or description I should look for ???THX

Is the arrow intended for the carb linkage stud or the flat metal "rod" for the front of the throttle pressure modulation linkage?

The carb stud can be had from Holley or Edelbrock, OR any salvage yard with a Chrysler Corp vehicle carb in it. Two lengths, one for cruise and one without cruise. Manual transmission studs are even shorter.

This is the mopar linkage pin you need. you can get one off any early 60s late 80s mopar at the wrecker easy .

Your service manual drawing is 1966 and older.
See the u inquest spring bracket that/holds 2 springs.

The spring pulling back is 1967 and newer.

They accomplish the same thing.
