Imps Rule

Greetings! After some hand-wringing (...and reading discussions on this forum), I’ve decided that - for Me - the value of having a right-hand rear-view mirror takes precedence over loosing the clean-sided, ‘old-school’, no-mirror look on the passenger side. Especially with a pending 1,000 mile round-trip drive with my car club from DC to Detroit this summer. Toward that end...
I was recently able to snag the Fury-correct coordinating rectangular-face, ‘square-backed,’ shorter-post right hand mirror on eBay [Addendum: Mirror Bezel Part#: 3548592; and Pedestal Part#: 3548582). The pristine, NOS part came with the correct rubber gasket and fasteners. Before having it installed, I thought I’d post photos of the item to help others identify the correct part (including a sharp, focused closeup of the part number etched inside). Also included a few pix from the eBay ad including the gasket and fasteners.
Per the previous discussions on this topic, there are many mirrors posted for sale on eBay that claim to fit a ‘71 Fury, but - while square - they usually have a flattened, slightly ‘curved’ shell, instead of the angled-squared shell that matches the standard LH mirror (see images).
I wish I could use some sort of super-Velcro or a powerful magnet instead (lol), but... And while hardly a timid driver and possessed of very good spatial sense, every time I back into my parking spot feels like an unnecessary gamble. Anyhow, I hope others find the photos helpful.
