Maybe get some color correct turquoise paint mixed up for you and in some spray cans after some sealing primer.

Or you could go for this look

Both these options are the best IMO. A good primer, and paint would be my first choice, and leave it at that. Or do the primer and paint, and then the trunk coating. I do not like rust "encapsolators" and especially have no love for POR15. All snake oil products to help hold water under the coatings and have things rust out faster. ;)

That trunk with the masked off trunk supports, and the light grey coating just looks amazing! The attention to detail is top notch!

I have never seen a C-body in these years with body color in the trunk except the bottom of the deck lid.

Basically from the trunk seal inward I believe it should have had a medium gray speckled paint with a gray plaid mat.

I recall many with body color overspray over the gray speckled paint.
Or was that on Fusies?
S%&$ I can't remember all this stuff anymore. Grr...

REGARDLESS,
I'm not going for judging points.
Silver Bullet and gray speckle. That's the way I'm going .

I think...

Fusey... as I recall we had this discussion before and the trunk in the slabs were all a spatter paint( or whatever its called, lets call it trunk paint). Doesnt Scott (Rexus) have the answer?

I blasted this clean with silica... trunk, engine comp, sub-frame, floors, jams etc. The roof under the vinyl was sanded bare with 80 grit.

I then shot it with POR15 excluding the top half of the firewall, inner fenders, jams etc. I didn't use it wherever it was going to be top coated with body color.

Thursday night car show update.
Something happened to me last night that I never experienced before.
When the show was over and Lance and I packed everything up, I headed back to BitterSweet to finish up the night with some beer n chowdah at The Lagoon and there was an elderly gentleman waiting for me.
Looooong story short: He owned a car identical to mine a long time ago and has been searching for one just like it (sound familiar?). He made me an offer I $houldn't refu$e....
I had to tell him it wasn't for sale. He gave me his card and I headed off to The Lagoon.

The words coming out of my mouth "it's not for sale".
What is happening to me!?

Knowing how much you care for Bittersweet, I think you said the right thing. Same thing happened to me with my 64 300 convertible. Fellow followed me home and made the "offer I couldn't refuse". I sold the car and have regretted it to this day. It was a great daily driver and had several long distance road trips under its belt.

Enjoy your chowdah and the doubt will pass.......

Life is a lesson, you'll learn it when you're through as Limp Biskit says. ;)

Well, since the car is not getting painted, I'll settle with Mopar trunk paint over rust converter.
The real issue was how the factory painted the trunk and now I know. Thanks for all the input.
Krylon Gloss Black anyone? Lol :D

What about Rust bullet Stan? I've heard alot of good things about it. Someone on here did their front stub, and underhood area with it, and it looked great. Thats what I'm planning to use on the blumo. Some $pricey$ stuff though!

Silver bullet was a dream to spray and I liked the finish better than POR-15. POR-15 always looked like Dip when it dried.

And the latest news....

Dropped off seats and Legendary covers at upholstery shop.
Won't be done until mid February... :BangHead:

The bad news is he's about 85 years old.
Hope he makes it.

Stan,, why didn't you just do it yourself...
It really isn't that hard..
Hog ring pliers and patience..... : )

I appreciate the encouragement, guys, but I helped a guy once put on a Legendary kit.
It was a mo-fo ***** and results were less than stellar.
Plus, my seats need new foam and then there are the carpetted seat backs, and, and, and...

So, I guess I don't wanna... :D
