Just heard that J Giels of the J Geils Band died.

Had some good tunes. Centerfold and others.

Love Stinks was 1 of my favorite albums of the time. Rest In Peace.

Saw The J. Geils Band play the opening act for Bob Seger a little over a year ago.
RIP

I wanted to see that concert so bad I would have driven to Atlanta or Tampa. Damm scalpers made it impossible.
I've seen both bands many times but J. Geils Blues band was one of the best.

Saw them play a New Years eve concert in Worcester, I had a great time...I think.

RIP J. Geils. A very talented bar band who made the big time. They made some great albums but their live shows were where they made their claim to fame.

The 80's .......? J. Giles was a regular at the East town theatre in Detroit in the late 60's and into the 70's. They would rock the place and opened for the likes of Eric Clapton, The rolling stones, Bobby Segar and more. He even headlined a few times. It was back in the day when you just showed up the night of the concert, got a ticket at the ticket booth, (and whatever else may be required).
I tried to get tickets to the last tour with Bobby Segar both in Atlanta and Tampa. scalpers wanted up to $1300.00 for good seats. Now I'm kicking myself, I thought he'd be around forever.

Best concert ever was the 1981 tour of the Rolling Stones. Saw them at the Kingdome in Seattle...oh, my, what an evening! Opening band was Nirvana (when no one outside Seattle knew who the hell they were!), then Greg Kihn Band, then J. Geils, then the Stones! We had nosebleed seats as far up as one could sit. The bands looked like ants on stage!

Yes Unnoticed. Sure they had a few budget bin albums but didn't get noticed until Freeze Frame. Nothing after that .

They had really great stuff prior to the '80s and although I was young I remember hearing them on WABX and the WRIF and was a fan prior to the music they started making for MTV.
