According to hemmings I don't have to change the backing plate. It gave me the part #s for the parts. The rear axle says put. It is the original. My only question is why pull the hubs if it's not necesary. My axle ran behind max wedges all day. If I have to pull the hubs I will. I don't see the reason to. I have removed n installed lug studs in a corn field. Especially when the particular tool to pull the hubs is not available. Again looks like I wing it
