Hi guys, I've never did this before, but I've seen it done. I was told to buy Schumacher Poly-Locs, but at $160, I figure I can chain the motor until I can afford to buy the Polys. Has anyone done this and how would I go about it. Where does the chain bolt to and is it safe? Thanks guys....

I debated for a little while myself because the damn mounts are so much more expensive, but now I'm glad I did. These things hang on like they grew out of the block.

Thanks man, yeah I know that they are good, but just for now I will need to chain it. My mounts are new. I just would like to know how this is done.

I hate to see you do it.
It's not a real repair and once you do it the incentive to make the repair correctly is lost.

Yeah, I sympathize. Been there done that. Maybe someone will tell you the proper way to chain the motor, I've never done it. I've seen people put chains on high dollar motors for extra insurance so it's not like it's hill billy.

Use.some 5/16 chain even cheap stuff, non d.o.t. is fine, bolts that hold engine plates to ears left front top put bolt through chain and reattach, the other end ? On a c body usually used sway bar mounts on b-e body could wrap around stub frame and.use bolt to secure easy to reverse when $ up for poly lock. Question is how much power or is this a stick car.

I think I will wait for the Polys and keep off the throttle,..BUT, I will look at if the chain will work tomorrow. I want to run the car next week at Atco to get a baseline, so the chain will make me feel better if it's there because I'll be running a Hoosier 28x10 on the car.

Atco NJ?????

My 69 300 had a steel cable with loops on each end that attached with the mount bolts.
It seemed like it would be pretty effective without the awkward look of the chain. I still have it somewhere.... I'll try to post a picture when I find it.

Some nice racing this weekend...
