I couldn't believe my good fortune of finding a 69 Fury III like mine. I,ve been to the junkyard 3 times wrenching and buying the parts. Too bad that bench seat isn't right for my car. I'm thinking about the windshield and back glass too. I imagine those are hard to get also should anything happen to mine. I got both fenders,doors.1/4 glass, tailights, bumpers, header panel, grill, rear fender extensions, and core support. There are 2 other old Plymouths there also, which I took pics of. The yard is in the Toledo Ohio area.I,ll gladly pass on the info to anyone who wants to know. Will, what did those 62's have.....318's and 361's and 413's?

I have no problem with it what so ever. The guys over there have vigilante groups and posses ready to crucify anyone with a tag without a body to it.

Some of us actually DO collect tags. I prefer tags from /6, four door, wagon, and "less desirable" cars that have been parted. They help fill in the gaps.

Noobie question alert!!:sSig_noob:

Whats the purpose of collecting the tags?

6 cyl N/A in a 62 Sport Fury .... 318 2 bbl. was the base engine .... 4bbl power pack optional, (last year for a 4bbl poly 318). The Golden Commando engine was the 361 HP 305 horse power engine. and of course the legendary 413 Max Wedge in a 415 hp and 425 hp version.

Study and History...once they're gone, they're gone....

Exactly. Due to the myriad of options they had their own 'personalities'. The sentimental side of me recognizes each car not only as something a human built by hand but a car that somebody took to grandma's for Christmas, went on vacations, made out in at the drive in and 'used' to its intended purpose. They are almost like a living entity to me. Now, they are 'dead' never to exist again. Keeping the tag is an acknowledgement a specific and unique car existed at one time and had an impact on some ones life.

The history and research buff in me likes them because each car gives you an insight into how and when things were done. Each tag is a piece of a really, really big puzzle. If you put a bunch of them together, you see patterns and reverse engineer what happened, how it happened and when it happened.

Sorry to steer the post in another direction.

To the OP. Nice find. If the tags are still on the cars, I'd sure appreciate it if you can get them for me. I'll take any DCPI 62-79 and body style.

That's an amazing way to see it, thanks for the benefits that we get from the passion you have for these great cars.
