You never - well, almost never, except occasionally at a car show - see fuselage cars driving around here any more. So imagine my surprise tonight, on my drive home from work, when one passed me in rush hour traffic! We were heading in generally the same direction but by different routes, and eventually I caught up to him for a closer look.

The car was wearing Prince Edward Island plates, and was a '71 Fury III 4-door sedan. Black paint, tan interior. It had some waviness on the lower bodysides but looked surprisingly good, no obvious rot, shiny paint and decent chrome. If it was a hardtop I would have been totally ga-ga but even as a sedan it put a smile on my face. I always liked the '71 Fury and this one looked good. I gave the driver a thumbs-up as I passed. I'm thinking it must have been one of those barn finds we hear about, maybe a potato farmer over there owned it. Or, given the color, maybe a funeral director. Nice to see one regardless.

Nice observation! Too bad you didn't have a camera with you.

I keep an old 3.2mp Minolta camera with me at all times....it takes great photos, even when moving. And it's small enough to take pics with one hand while drivng.

:dontknow:........so? Are the developed yet?

I would have had a heart attack if I saw that on the local roads.

Same here, I have to be careful not to run in to the car in front of me or off the road when I see a classic or something nice on 2 legs.

Man I must be spoiled out here on the west coast. I see all kinds of old cars being driven regular, rain or shine. Heck I have my wagon out right through to late November. I hardly think anything to see old mopars....and a fair number of C-bodies...out on the roads.

Here in Detroit I see a lot of interesting cars, old and new. One of the many good parts about living here.

I see a fuselage or two in my area every now and then, usually headed south to car shows. I also a good share of slab cars on and off the road.....off the road meaning in farmers yards decaying away. The last one I saw was a 66 0r 67 NY'r, we passed right by one another but he did not notice me (quite impossible I would think).

1st. Nope. Saw 3 or 4 driving back from N.C. up rt.13 in Delaware a few weeks ago.

2nd. No he didn't see me, I looked dead at him, never even flinched. I was perplexed too, but whatever. Some people don't feel the comradeship...they're just tooling around in an old car. I believe all were heading to some kind event a few miles from Dover b/c they were going opposite of my direction. It was a bummer b/c I wanted to turn around and follow.

Dover is two hours away.....The bridge is twenty minutes away. I can see the moon from my yard but I dont call it part of my neighborhood.

Well, the bridge is MUCH closer to me than the moon is too you. I can be at the bridge 5,6,-7 mins. depending on traffic. and Dover is not THAT far from Wilmington at all.

Nevertheless, the Chrysler traffic I was hitting was all headed south down rt.13. out of Wilmington. I'm kicking myself b/c I did not think to grab pics when I stopped to fill'er up.
