Vanishing Point. Another of those car movies from high schools days. If you didn't leave the theater parking lot afterward in a cloud of tire smoke, well something ain't right. Or you drove a Corvair!

This one is getting buried so since nobody stepped up I will answer. The scene tbm3fan posted is from Hitchcock's The Birds.
This is after the birds attacked the school, and caused a gas station attendant to drop a running hose. The gas is running toward the guy in the hat (you can see it at his feet) about the light a cigarette (the people in the restaurant are yelling at him). and then this iconic scene:
The photo I posted was Hitchcock's cameo in many of his films. He tried to disquise them but if you are sharp-eyed you can catch him.
You see Tippi Hedren going in the pet store (to buy the love birds for Mitch's sister). In the still I posted, she's halfway in the door as Hitchcock passes with the dogs. Here it is in video
