I got back from the World of Wheels show in Rosemont earlier today. The show had some nicely restored originals, and custom cars and trucks with some having to have had years of time, money and plenty of fabrication work done to them before making it to this show.
My friend Dennis received an award for the Top 20, Best of Show for his 68 Dodge Coronet.
This was his second show, with the 1st being Detroit last weekend at the Autorama show for it's unveiling. This is the first time I have seen his car completed. It looked great.
Some of the mods included a hood from a newer Challenger that was grafted into the 68 Coronet's, Challenger tail lights, Road Runner bumpers, with the exhaust exiting where the back up light would've been, custom engine & suspension, custom paint/pin striping, all kinds of sheet metal work, and a custom interior, including parts from B & E cars.
I had an old set of 69 bucket seats from a Chrysler 300 that Dennis bought from me 3 years ago. Although they've been reupholstered, they're the ones in his car as you see it today.
I took a bunch of pics of this his car and a bunch of the other cars that were on display.

I had a chance to talk with the owner of this rotisserie restoration, 70 Dodge Coronet R/T. Gawd, I wish mine was that nice.
The fab shop that did Dennis' Coronet is building their next big custom, a Daytona Charger.

Where was this held at? Someone take that God awful 66-300 out and shoot it!
The show ends today. It's an annual event in Rosemont, IL at the Donald E. Stephens convention center.
BTW, there was an entire section of Low-Riders, but this and the 40's Plymouth were the only Mopars I saw in this area of the show.

Some neat pictures of some neat cars. Even a stock '65 Newport 4-dr sedan!

Thanks,
CBODY67

So many bad decisions on this one.:wtf:

Thanks for posting all these pics!

Thanks for some great photos. Some real beauties and some real beasts. That '66 300 with the red and gold interior truly made my eyes burn, what a waste of what could have bee a beautiful coupe. And that mural on the trunk lid....yikes.

I'm so removed from Chi-town, been so long since been there. I remember some shows like this with the Zingers and stuff.. Thanx
