The spare one I have is not in good shape the short pin that keeps it straight is there but broken off .it does have the gasket.
I don't believe these hood ornaments ever had a spring in them. Both my spare and original are solid.
The same hood ornament is on the 66 300's. I have one I took off a car this spring It's only so so paid $50
There may be another one in the parts my Dad stripped of a car 30 years ago but those parts are in my brothers shed
out on his acreage.
I see you put the 66-67 300 hood ornament on both cars. Looks great. My car is a 67 300 ragtop, My dad purchased in 1969. i remember the day it came home.
Why not find another hood Paint it the flat black , install the scoop on that. then you can switch back later if you wish. and still have unmolested hood
I have purchased a old set of rear leaf springs out of a 67 Newport.
I plan on rebuilding them and installing into my 67 300 convertible.
The ones in the car now have added leaves installed in the early 70"s when my Dad was pulling a holiday trailer.
The *** end of the car sits a little too...
Thanks for bringing this car to my attention . It was great to find the parts I needed. Anything else you need to ask about car I can check up on next time I'm there.
I'll be looking at the 67 300 parts car in Alberta this weekend as our cabin is just 10 minuets down the road.
I need a few chrome pieces so hopefully they will be there. The car is about an hour west of Red Deer.
Thanks for posting about this parts car.
