I went with the AAJ front disc kit on my 62 Newport... Had the car for ~~3 years.
The stock "Total Contact" brakes were all new when I bought my car. The car was a non-running and driving project. They never worked right... I spent 2 winters trying to make them work with no luck. Constant...
Thank you so much for taking all the time for this...
I sent you a pm
Just so all you people know on here --- 62 dodge is a good guy.
Unless something changes, I think I have found my 2 rim's.
Thank you to all who responded.
Would there have been any 14" rims on this car with these little nubs on the outer edge?
Looking for 2
I am sure the car is a Korean refrigerator by now, but maybe a wheel made it off.
Good day sir--
It would not happen to have 14" rims with these little Nubs on the outer edge would it?
Or do you have 2 of these rims laying around--- Early 60's Chrysler ? With those nubs (4) on the outer edge of the rim?
I posted a wanted ad for 2 of these rims with the nubs in the parts wanted section of this forum...
4 little nubs equidistant around the outer edge of the rim as in the picture.
Most likely off an early 60's Chrysler... 14"
If anyone has 2 or even one of these layin around, it will be an easy...
Good day-
I am looking for 2 - 14" rims that have these nubs on the outer edge as shown in the picture.
There are 4 of those nubs equidistant around the outer edge.
They would most likely be from an early 60's Chrysler - Newport, or possibly New Yorker, or maybe a 300 or?
It's possible there...
Yes. I read that also, and I thought that is what my issue was ( wheel flex )
But now I see that 2 of my rims are completely wrong, and have no chance of holding on the stock wheel cover's.
I have a perfect set of 62 stock wheel cover's that look good on the car so I think I am going to try...
Yep - That is exactly my wheel cover. -- So I need the nubs... That is why I keep losing the cover.
And yes, there are smaller nubs by the valve stem.
Man - It will be tough to find 2 wheels with those nubs ha
That is great work- Thank you Sir for taking all that time.
Maybe I could spot...
Not to beat a dead horse--- But upon further inspection, the correct 3 nub 14" Mopar steel wheel has these little nubs on the outer rim, I assume to help hold on the full wheel cover..
No wonder I was throwing them off --- It was the 2 bogus rims the whole time.. ( They do not have these nubs...
Hey there Big John- I was hoping you would show up. You helped me a lot the last time I was here with my 727 valve body...
I do not want to hijack this thread, but I followed your "driveline vibration" thread, and learned a lot.. Andy Bernbaum parts has a ball and trunion kit for sale... Mine...
That is great info--- If I am remembering correctly, those 2 weirdo rims could be the ones that were throwing the caps, I really appreciate knowing that the 3 nub rim is the correct stock Mopar rim.
Any thoughts if the correct 3 nub 14" rim takes a 10" dog dish - poverty cap if I decide to go...
