    Cheap Aluminum Radiatores

I got a 26" from ECP and have been happy with it. But double the $150 price. I had to modify the mounting holes slightly as my car has a 22" support, so the radiator was not a direct bolt in. And yes, I painted it black. Just because I didn't like the shiny aluminum. I Used Rust oleum BBQ ultra...

Rescue operation, -69 Imp instrument panel pad

Yes, for my big dash with cracks and holes I'll need a filler that is sandable and at least 1 layer one top. Probably 2. Going to be 4-way stretch vinyl on top. I'm always interested in possible fillers that adhere to old material and have a slightly flexible constancy when dry. Ther are plenty...

Rescue operation, -69 Imp instrument panel pad

Looks awesome. I have a true 69 dash pad in the rafters with cracks and wanted to try to restore. So you had no cracks in the vinyl? After all the work is the dash still brittle or does the paint solidify it a bit? I am wondering how the 3M 550 FC will look after a few summer heat cycles...

    Tool tips

We all have drip pans but this water heater drain pan is really big..unfortunately can catch multiple different fluids at the same time. Also good for oil catch pan on a low car or a water catch pan under a drain that doesnt allow a high edge pan but still needs some volume. Plastic - Water...

    Battery Upgrade - 1963 Imperial

I have a non-stock battery tray. A little wider and it perfectly fit a group 65 from my ford explorer. 850 CCA vs 810 for 27 (costco/interstate). 65 battery is the same length, almost 3/4" inch wider, and not as tall.

Suggestions on LED Under hood Work Lights

I guess Santa headed down south after you and dropped one off at my house too. As you said it's a nice light, but the motion sensor only operates when you are like 4" from the sensor. You have to purposefully wave your hand over it instead of just movement under it. I can hear the neighbors now...

How to remove odor from the steering wheel of a 67 Fury?

I have this nasty cheese smell/vomit with other old plastics but lucky with car stuff. Reading up on it its a breakdown of the plastic and one of the byproducts is butyric acid (s./a as in blue cheese). Suggestions were to put the wheel in dry or liquid bath of baking soda or some other basic...

Suggestions on LED Under hood Work Lights

The motion sensor idea got me thinking about a small light I have in a closet. Same as "under cabinet" lights. Example is below. Most are magnetic. I'm thinking they wouldn't last long moving them around in the garage, but they are much cheaper than $44. Might move my closet one to the trunk to...

    Power Bench seat question

All the "new" ones don't really have a transmission which was needed when there was only 1 big motor. Now they just use 1 small motor for each function. The GM track pictured is a 6 way and that's what you want Cuz late 80s they started with 7 way which gives you seat back adjustment. I never...

    Power Bench seat question

After rebuilding the 62-68 version with hte transmission and joystick I'm guessing the 69-78 system would have less parts to fail. THe old style has multiple small gears in the transmission that could strip and for sure get gummed up. Plus it uses the solenoids that use electric coils to force...

Suggestions on LED Under hood Work Lights

I have both of those pictured. Yes the Braun one is brighter and last longer but the other ones I use more often. What I like about both of these is LED style which is COB. The entire area lights up as opposed to little dots of light. Its not a big difference but for close up work I like COB...

Did the 69 Polara ever come with 14" wheels?

Previous owner had 14s on my 69 fury. Not proportionally pleasing. Like fat girl with high heels. And yes a 15x7 will stick out towards fender 1/2" more than a 15x6 wheel with same backspace/offset.

Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

And if you can measure the drone frequency at your ears one of these strange things can be designed. Hemlholtz Resonator https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/helmholtz-resonator-exhausts?srsltid=AfmBOop38x_836FQ8vtIFCxNkof2ItCGba0qjlPbjhoxKUFjnhbhxS-W No More Exhaust Drone!!! (TSP Dual...

Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

Another option that doesn't require new mufflers is to add resonators (aka glass packs). The longer the better. Most of us have some long sections on either side of the tank before you get to the tips. Read reviews. There is definitely some science behind the frequency of the drone and the...
