    Pics of 69-73 C bodies

Picked the '73 up about a month ago. The '71 I had back in the mid-90's. Wish I still had that one.

1973 Newport will not start, but sounds like it wants to! why?

I just got done messing with mine, although it ran, just not well. I'd follow the flow chart, and it sounds like you have done some of the stuff already. BUT, if it sputtered, it's a quick thing to do, just advance your timing (turn distributor clockwise). After I replaced my vacuum advance...

Vacuum advance troubles ... what a headache.

I think I finally got it all sorted out, but what a hassle. 400 with a 2 Barrel, electronic ignition, no points, and it was running sluggish off the line. Vacuum advance turned out to be bad, provided no advance. I have no idea how long it was out, but I ordered a new one. Put the thing in...

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

so i watched all the mike's carb videos AFTER i did the work, wrong order, i know. what i noticed is the power valve in the mike's videos is way taller, it looks like, than what is actually in my carb, and way taller than the power valve available to order from mike's. mine doesn't stick up...

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

Turns out the linkage to the accelerator pump was not assembled correctly, and the pump wasn’t really pumping. Car fired right up after I squared that away. Going to put the timing back to where it was before I changed it, and I think I’ll be good to go.

working through the issues on '73 Newport - AC

found the cable in the engine compartment, worked it back and forth from there, and now the slider works! all good, just need to wait until the weather warms up to see if the AC actually works.

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

I think it’s possible it’s the accelerator pump, but I don’t know for sure. Gas kind of gurgles out, but not a jet, like I’ve seen in other videos. Let me know if that looks right, thanks!

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

A little update, figured I’d pop the distributor and check points, but it doesn’t have points, so I didn’t mess with whatever that little unit is called. Tested my vacuum advance, and it seems to work. Drove it with it unhooked, and the hesitation seemed to be worse. I then figured I’d loosen...

working through the issues on '73 Newport - AC

so the hot cold slider on the climate controls is completely stuck on the hot side. it will not move. i'm going to look through the online manual, but has anyone else dealt with this issue?

    Welcome, DonnieRockett

thanks, i just picked up a 1973 Newport, so i'll be asking some questions, lol.

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

Thanks for all the help. I have about 5 inches of flexible fuel line where I think the filter should be, according to the posted photo, so I’m thinking I don’t have one currently installed. I have some hesitation from a stop, but really haven’t done anything yet, since I just got it. Is there a...

I'm sure I can find it, but I'd rather just know...where is the fuel filter?

First post! I've searched the interwebs, and this site, and I'm familiar with where fuel filters can be, but if anyone knows definitively where the fuel filter is, and can drop the location in here, it would save me some time. I have the regular, 400 cid big block, 4 door, with AC, no mods. I...
