Thanks everyone for all the replies. I disconnected battery last night…just went out in garage and reconnected battery looked inside car at ignition switch…was not lit up…opened driver door…dome light came on…and ignition light came on. closed door…dome light went off and about 10-20 seconds...
Couple of questions:
Dome Light on ceiling…yellow and pink wires go up through a-pillar to dome light…both have 12 volts on them. 12 volts on yellow wire flows through light bulb to ground (with switch on dome light forward) when either door gets opened. When doors are shut, 12v. gets...
Going down the road steady-state…45…55 mph can feel engine is not smooth…it “bucks,” it’s a 62 318 poly…my 350 in my 58 DeSoto did this and I put in new condenser…fixed it. Tried it on this 318…didn’t work. Have also changed points and coil too. Still does it. Engine is not a smooth idler...
Thank you…I was able to do this but I wound up dropping pan. I couldn’t figure out where to push on spring clip that holds end of cable in. Once I had pan off it was no problem. O-ring is .7” thick and 1” in diameter. Actually had one on hand. Once replaced no more leak.
Have been trying for a long time now to fix the leaks in my transmission. It’s a 1964 727…in a 58 Plymouth. Replaced kickdown shaft seal already now the push button shift cable is leaking at the adjustment dial. Cable itself looks fine but there must be a seal between that adjustment dial and...
After shutting down motor…I can smell gas…for no apparent reason and after 5-10 min. wait, it’s very hard starting. Did this w/ original carb and new Holley 4 barrel.
Thanks for all great info. guys. I have a Holley 4 barrel on it now. As I said before it’s doing the same thing with this new carb. I looked up on YouTube how to lower the float level and I quickly did it this morning before I left the house. Seems better already. I don’t smell the raw gas as I...
Why does my 68 Fury 383 dump gas after shutting down? The smell is obvious and it’s done it ever since I owned it which is eight years now. I have an aftermarket 4 barrel carb. on it now for…. started out with the stock Carter two barrel, dumped gas with original and it’s still dumping gas...
Is it true you only have to wipe off dirt with some type of alcohol based cleaner and sanding is NOT necessary? How about at tape line? When removing tape is it necessary to cut with razor blade? That’d be tough not to cut into powder coat and create a rust line.
Just wondering if anyone here has used plastic dip spray on any painted surfaces of their car? In my case, I want to blacken the inner areas (5 on each wheel) of my silver powder coated rally wheels. I’m dreading sanding all those little areas. I’ve heard: If you clean it real well, tape it off...
Like I said, I don’t need this pad but know how hard they are to find. Hate to see it go to waste. Anybody know if it can be removed without getting driver door open? I’m thinking there’s one screw over there. Not sure my back will tolerate being in crouched position for so long but love doing...
Didn’t take many of the whole car but here’s what I got. Can’t get over to driver side of car at all. Just hate to see good parts go to waste. I do believe the Javelin on top has been sheltering the dash pad from some of the weather.
Was rummaging around in local junkyard for some parts for my 69 Polara when I stumbled upon this ~ 70 Fury Wagon with a decent black dash pad. Was not able to open Driver door…passenger door opens and windshield is mostly gone now and there’s an old AMC Javelin on top. What do you think guys...
