Thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking of something closer to the 1960 look with the pie crust. Last night I found a 8.20R15 online. The white wall is 3.25. Has anyone had any experience with American Classic tires? It's not a Coker band but I found it at the Coker website. Is it...
Hi Everyone,
Just picked up a 1960 Imperial Crown with 54K original miles on it. (I have documentation going back to 12/24/1963 supporting the mileage.) The car is in overall good condition. Looks like it has had paint work back in the day and maybe some re-chroming. All the rubber around the...
I went to start my NYB today and when I turned the key to the crank position I heard a 'pop and crack' sound and it seemed like everything went dead. Now when I go to crank it none of the lights light up on the dash and the starter will not crank. I replaced the starter relay but it did not...
Thank you again Dave. The read end had some clanking shifting from drive to reverse. The old fluid looked like complete sludge Hope the sound will be reduced with the new fluid change.
Thank you again for your help.
Best Regards',
Nick.
Thank you Dave. I appreciate your help. Yes both wheels turn in the same direction. If I use the Lucas product will I still need an additive? Also, before listing this post I used Valvoline HP 80-90. It doesn't say if it is Synthetic but is does say that it is API GL 4-5 suitable for...
I'm changing the Differential fluid on my 1977 NYB. It is equipped with a 440 and has a 12 bolt cover. I wondering if it needs a friction additive. Also, I do not see any spider gears inside. Instead there are some springs. What type of differential did they use on the NYB?
Just spoke with the owner. He mentioned that he could have it shipped for $800. Sounded like he would possibly take 8K for the car but he is now talking about parting the car out. He also has a 67 convertible but it will need complete restoration. The owner seems like a nice guy but he also...
Dave,
Thanks for the advice. I think you are right. Once shipping is added in it's not feasible. If the car was closer so that I could see it in person I might make a different decision. However, I will pass on this one.
Thanks for the help.
Here is the picture of the trunk that the owner sent me. I also received a picture of the side. Both sides of the car have scratches all the way down the car. He suggested a wet sand and new paint on the sides as the scratcher are deep. The seller is asking 9K and turned down 7K from another...
