Gene Winfield has passed.

I've been a fan of custom cars since I was a kid. One of the best was Gene Winfield.

He passed at 97 today.

He was one of the giants when it came to custom cars. R.I.P.

So sad to hear about Gene's passing. My cousin just got to meet him and got his autograph at the Grand National Roadster Show.

R.I.P. Gene. In the 70's I repainted one of his custom creations. The "Manufacturers Hanover's Anycar" used for an ad campaign.

Had the honor of meeting this fine gentleman and skilled craftsman at the Atlantic Nationals here in Moncton. He demonstrated his skills and gave instruction at the "Cool Car Collage". We celebrated his 90th birthday with him at the Saturday night dance party with cake, drink and retro music complete with an excellent Elvis impersonator (Thane Dunn).
So glad to have met such an accomplished craftsman. Lindsay
