Just wondering if any of you have bought anything from Johann's Mopar Yard, and if so, what your experience was like.

It seems new and to have a facebook presence only, which makes me somewhat sceptical. If you are in Hartford Connecticut or aware of this business, it would be great to hear from you.

It may be legitimate, maybe not, either way it would good for all members to be know given there seems to be a lot of advertising around (such as Johann's MOPAR YARD ).

There are a lot of red flags. Saying "PM Me" on every response. Shipping only. No detail at all on his info page. Probably in Africa collecting deposits.

Smells like a scam to me. Pictures are almost exclusively drivetrain parts with fresh machine work (likely taken from other posts) but it claims to be a "yard" with typical Mopar junkyard photos. Every post is answered with 'dm me', even several about location.

Hopefully all you guys and gals in the C body community stay clear of JOHANN'S MOPAR YARD. It looks like I've lost a few hundred dollars. Don't follow me down that path....

Can you give any details?

Yesterday you were asking about them and today you are saying they took you for some $$.

How did you pay them? If you used something like PayPal, you may be able to get your money back.

Hi Big John

Yes, I paid a deposit by bank transfer, foolishly as requested to the (supposed) proprietor's brother who supposedly is in Australia. Then I got a request to pay the balance a different account, which was one red flag too many.

The bank account I transferred money to is based in Sydney and I have a name of the account holder that has been provided to local authorities. No doubt the person is known to the Australian Federal Police. The supposed proprietor's details were also provided.

I doubt i will get my money back, but I have learner my lesson and hopefully have helped other Mopar enthusiasts to avoid JOHANN'S MOPAR YARD.

Foolish I know, but lesson learnt before the loss increased further.
