Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

You can remove just the bottom connection on the shocks and see if the car goes down.

My bet is no change.

I hope it does change, hey you never know. Right now it's having the roof and floors fixed so I might have to wait a while

After thinking about this car height. No way those shocks are raising it that high. But if they do I would be interested in buying them! LOL

I also don't believe they are raising it that high.. But they also aren't making the rear any lower. The leaf springs have probably been arched for more height.

The only way to truly tell is to pull them off or release the spring tension. Then drive the car 10-20 miles and see if it settles. I think it will come down some, but probably not a lot.

IMHO, once they are off, what should happen is the car riding better and less stress on the crossmember the shocks mount to. Some people have good luck with them (or air shocks), but I've seen a couple disasters where the crossmember is toast.
