I'm in the process of restoring my 1972 imperial Le Baron, looking into replacing the oil white vinyl top. Can one of the "seasoned" Chrysler members decipher my data plate. Wondering if the white top and red paint are original. I looked on-line without any luck. Anyone know how to speak c body braille ? I thank y'all for any help.

YM23T2C144698 is an awesome car!!

Love the FE5 rally red. Don't see FE5 often on any C body.

Do you have a restoration thread? I personally would love to follow along with this awesome rides rebirth. FE5 is one of the best colors!!

More pics please!!

The car is a true barn find. Was parked in back of a auto shop since 1979. I bought it 3 years ago with a locked up engine. There was 6 inches of sludge in the pan. The lack of lube seized the camshaft. I rebuilt the engine with a melling rv cam. 28" Radiator was rebuilt by Bill Carburry (www.classicradiator.com)
I've ask around the c body enthusiast and I think I might have the last rally red 2 door 1973 . Anyone know of another?

Its common that owners are curious about such things but...given that the car has an October scheduled date meaning there were at least eight months left in the production year and given that cars were not built in any sequential or chronological order and given that Imperials are hard to document due to low production numbers and survivability rates and given most people can't remember what they had for breakfast last week let alone the years, models and color combinations they've seen in parking lots, highways and shows over the last 50+ years and unless there is factory documentation showing FE5 was only available for a limited period for MY 1973.....

There is absolutely no way to know where this car and particular color fell in production on which to base any claim.
