    gas turning to varnish

I'm pretty sure you got some bad advice from Mike. Drive the car and if it runs good, you haven't hurt it any. If it stumbles upon acceleration, you may have to look into it some but premium gas won't be Varnish in 7 months. My cars sit from November until May normally but I add some Sta-bil to...

    Acceleration problems

Glad you got it fixed. Running premium gas without ethanol will help with not needing to replace that pump in the near future. Probably what caused the stumble in the first place.

    1962 Transmission Filter

Go to your parts store and tell them you want a WIX 58658 filter. Otherwise they will more than likely give you the wrong filter with one hole. I just dealt with this same issue last week.

    Why is it???

No answers for you BJ but I too have noticed the lack of info. They say "There are no stupid questions" but expecting everyone to know what vehicle you are dealing with and what is wrong with not much more than "Why won't my car run?," is stupid IMO.

    Trans Fluid drain plug leaking

My home made one is gonna be just fine thank you. The reason it is home made is because Ma Mopar didn't put one in there. As far as fouling up my trans........Ain't gonna happen because I installed a home made drain plug. That job has been assigned to the filter. When it does foul up it will...

    Trans Fluid drain plug leaking

He already said it was his drain plug that was leaking. Not the pan gasket. IMO, the leak is around the threads of the drain plug that he fabricated in his pan. I have to disagree with most of your post since none of these older 727 pans had a drain from the factory. The deep pans.....Yes. Also...

    Trans Fluid drain plug leaking

I too added a drain plug in my trans oil pan. Before I installed the pan, I smeared some black Hi temp gasket sealer on the threads so they won't let the oil seep past the threads. The next time I gotta drain the pan for what ever reason, I will have to seal the threads again before I install...

    727 Kick down issue.

    OK.....That makes sense to me.

    727 Kick down issue.

Not only that......It looks like the 65-66 alum 727's use the two hole filter and the later model 727 use the one hole filter. The parts houses apparently don't know that either since they show the one hole filter fits 1960-97. All is well again with mine though. I went back to the stock pan and...

    727 Kick down issue.

Update on my transmission dilemma. I ordered a new WIX 58658 filter that crosses over to mopar pn: 2466849. It showed up today so I dumped the oil and dropped the pan. I found out I had the correct filter with the two holes but the filter extension that came with my deep pan only had the one...

    727 Kick down issue.

No need. I was just wondering. Everything I can find now is the newer style with one hole. Like I said, I'm going back to stock. Thanks for your help.

    727 Kick down issue.

Where did you get the deep pan extension for the two hole filter in your picture? All I can find are the one hole extensions like the one I installed on my transmission causing my kick down issue. I have decided to go back to my stock pan with the correct filter. The main reason I installed the...

    Wiring Issue w/ Electronic ignition

Yeah, I had it backwards. I did have the same situation though with the start but no run and it was in my bulkhead connectors. I edited my answer in post 13.

    66 sport fury antenna

If you have a radio repair shop in your area, They should be able to crimp on a new end. Does it look like this one? I unplugged the coax fitting from the base. I broke the radio end off and I had my radio shop put on a new end in pic 3

    Wiring Issue w/ Electronic ignition

I'm betting on the bulkhead connector for Ignition 1. Ignition 1 is your run circuit. That is what you are losing.
