    Keys and key codes

Key codes for vehicles built prior to the 1980s are something of a lost cause. The codes would have been on the vehicle's documents received by the "ship to" dealership, which would have been immediately put in a file at the dealership. There usually was a small metal tag with the code on it...

    Locked keys in the trunk

I gotta say, I own a half dozen newer cars and they all open remotely. I haven't stuck a key in a trunk in years.... until I decided to grab the parts I had stored in the trunk of the polara. I hope to not do that again. My first instinct is to make a trunk key copy, and then never make the...

    Locked keys in the trunk

I had a pile of Mopar keys, it's one of those 'Pocket Pull' items you get while free roaming the junkyards. See a ignition key, pocket it, same with the trunk and I was kind enough to open the trunk and pop the lock cylinder out for the next guy that needed access to the trunk! :lol...

New guy looking at a ‘62

Just to update, it was too much of a mess. central floor pan area disintegrating. I didn’t spot any other major rust issues but the corners were damp everywhere (it’s been rainy lately). No trunk key, the 1 key present didn’t work too well for anything. Fuel tank was in the back seat, see thru...

    Locked keys in the trunk

Ha IIRC, the 57-ish Chebbies only had 7 key patterns and you could pull the key in the off position. One could operate the vehicle without a key. I know that 60-64 Corvairs had that style of ignition lock. Just not sure if they only had 7 ‘key patterns’...

WANTED Tail lamp lenses for '70 Fury III

Typically the passenger side bottom lip is broken off and missing about 6 inches in from the end. Why? the trunk key lock is right above it and if you are carrying anything you place your package on the tail light lip and it's broken. If you have the pieces, glue them on and move on. I balance...

Is using the Imperial image and script protected by Stelantis?

Looking at former auto parts building built in 1971. It is 55' x 100'. It is a block building with beige-colored bricks. Considering putting in two drive-through doors in front which already has two 36" wide glass doors separated by a 36" glass panel. The elevated former sign now is a blank...

1971 Chrysler Newport Custom 383, rebuilding in Europe

More or less the route of the trip, with one difference - we took the ferry from Poland not Germany. Packed the car, entire trunk, + 3 people on board. Went with my buddies. Checked all fluids, oil, radiator, and washer. The engine burned around 1 quart of oil / 700 miles. Washed and polished...

Attention shade tree electrical engineers: I got a chunk of change for my birthday & decided to invest it into Project Turd, my 73 More-Door Newport (called that because it doggy doo brown & it gets crappy gas mileage). I ordered carpet, dead-liner insulation, cables, amplifiers, & speaker wires...

    Stuck Toyota Corolla trunk

I know that many of us drive cars other than Mopars for our dd's. My wife has asked me numerous times to lub the trunk lock. I've done it and it never seemed to help. Today I sent my 7 yr old in to get the key so I could move the car. My wife gave him something to put in the trunk. You...
