Thanks, I ended up tack welding them. They did torque to spec, but very loose going most of the way in.

1966 Chrysler power steering box issue

Thanks, the pitman arm was the problem. All back together.

1966 Chrysler power steering box issue

Great news! The steering box is fine. The problem was with my assumptions. The new pitman arm I bought did not have any master splines. What it did have was an indication line on the casting. This is where I made the assumption that the line was to indicate where the master spline would be...

1966 Chrysler power steering box issue

I recently had my power steering gearbox rebuilt. During reassembly of all new steering components, it appears that the gear box may have been assembled with the shaft going to the pitman arm a tooth or 2 off if that is possible. With the master spline on the shaft that goes to the column at 12...

    Torsion bar adjuster

Thanks, the reason I am asking is because the heads of the bolts on mine are almost an inch below the control arm. There is no engine or front fenders, bumper etc.on the car and if I put a jack under the LCA and jack it up it doesn't budge, just lifts the car. I guess that could be because all...

    Torsion bar adjuster

How far in are your adjuster bolts at your desired ride height? Are the heads of the bolts near the bottom of the control arm? Have you had the car on the ground? With or without engine in the car?

    Torsion bar adjuster

Need a little guidance. I am putting front suspension back together and I am not sure what the orientation of the torsion bar adjuster should be for installing the torsion bars. The nut holding the lower control arm in is loose, suspension is hanging as low as it will without pulling down on it...

    1966 300 mouldings

I tried something on one of the small clips. I drilled a very small hole then put a small screw in the hole and was able to get the pin out that way. This method may not be successful on some if they are really stuck in there.

    1966 300 mouldings

I'm starting to remove the trim on my 66 300. I was wondering how do I get the pin out of the clips in locations where I can't get to the back side. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sleeveless strut rod bushings

Just measured, 47". I think Craig sold me the right ones, just something got packed wrong at Moog.

    Sleeveless strut rod bushings

Maybe they discontinued the K7019A because the K7039 would work as well. I am positive that if Craig is selling them for the 66 300 then they are correct for the car. I think what has happened is someone back at Moog has put 1 wrong rubber in the box and I need another sloppy one so I can use...

    Sleeveless strut rod bushings

Looks like Moog had a K7019A the was specified for the 66 Chrysler, but doesn't look like they are available from Moog right now.

    Sleeveless strut rod bushings

Craig sold me the K7039 bushings. Moog's website says they fit 57 - 65 Chryslers and 66 Imperial. I don't see a Moog part number for a 66 Chrysler 300. I think I would prefer to have the sleeve, it helps maintain the correct length.
