NOT MINE For sale on Craigslist: 1961 DeSoto Fireflite 2-door Hardtop in Murfreesboro, TN - $38,500

That is a gorgeous and rare car! I didn't think they were "Fireflites", then, though; I thought all 1961s were just "Desotos".

Wheels won't fit over new disc hub?!

My spare is even older than my regular rubber; if I get a flat I'm getting towed back home :).

Wheels won't fit over new disc hub?!

I don't think that anyone would think to check the wheel to the rotor before assembly. Hindisight is 20/20 and all that, but I've never had this kind of fit issue before on other cars. Yes the parts are "off shore" but that's never been an issue before. I did end up grinding the wheel bore a...

Wheels won't fit over new disc hub?!

If his shipping to Canada is respectable, I may consider that next time :).

Wheels won't fit over new disc hub?!

I'm assuming that they're factory steel wheels; I mean, they fit the brake discs that just came off, so I'm assuming there's something different about the new discs. I just wondered if they were wagon parts, if those were different for some reason? I dunno, it's very odd to have everything the...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

A place in London called "Brake and Steering Rebuilders". At $60 per caliper it struck me as a pretty good deal. They came out looking brand new.

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

No, it seems to be in okay shape, though again it is a bit short (on both sides). Maybe when the wheels are back on the ground and there's some play available it'll get better?

Wheels won't fit over new disc hub?!

Boy, I've never had a brake job be so much effort and so full of disappointment as the one I'm doing on my '73 Fury! What should have been easy has been full of FML moments. It didn't desperately need new rear drums, but I sprang for them... and the parts place got me in the wagon ones (3" wide...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

As an update to my saga: I got my calipers rebuilt, and they look great! For some reason, though, on that passenger side front I still have to have the car powered in order to get enough brake force to actually push through fluid for bleeding. It bleeds fine on the driver's side, but on the...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

Okay, more on my BS brake saga: I'm trying to bleed the brakes to see if my pesky passenger side caliper will actuate now (after finally being able to be pushed in). My pedal is rock hard without the car running, which surprised me since there's tons of air in the line now. With the car running...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

I did finally get the caliper moving after disconnecting it from the car and using a big C-clamp to compress it. The fluid coming out of the caliper was pretty brown and gross. I was worried that there might be a blockage in the lines, and that's what was preventing me from being able to...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

My issue is I can't get the piston to extend, so I don't now how I'd get it out once I get it "on the bench". Is there a technique for that?

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

I'm looking to put new (or even just rebuilt) calipers onto my '73 Fury, and I cannot find anyone who carries these! Can anyone direct me to a vendor who sells calipers for these?

Another Dark Green 70 Polara, But a Nice One Again..................

So much green hate . It's such an uncommon colour on new cars, and certainly no green interiors are available (except for Kia, god bless 'em), so I say bring on the "pickles" in the classic car world :).

    What was "Strato Ventilation"?

    Ah, perfect, thanks!
  16. Turbo301

    What was "Strato Ventilation"?

The "Strato Vent" controller has a "VENT" setting before the "OFF HEAT DEF" settings, so would that just run the fan but without engaging the heat settings? It's a bit odd because that would be all but useless compared to the rather significant rush of air that comes from the kick-panel vents...

    What was "Strato Ventilation"?

I noticed that my '73 Fury has "Strato Vent" on its climate control module, and I didn't think much of it until I noticed that "Strato Ventilation" was an option in the brochure. What did you get without "Strato ventilation" versus with it? Is that in reference to the fresh air vents whose...

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible $11,000 (Winchester)

NOT MINE No Reserve 1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham Coupe 440 on BAT

Am I the only one who doesn't like the "gangsta" tint? On a black car, it can look good, but on something as colourful as this, it looks odd to me... very JC Whitney, which is very much not in keeping with the rest of the car. I agree with the previous comment about the red in the wheels, too...

    Pics of 69-73 C bodies

As many know by now, I don't like mags and white letters on non-muscle cars like these, but in this case I must make an exception: that is a fabulous wheel/tire choice for your black beauty!
