    When I inquired about a new shift knob, I was told they "all" have threads to attach, however as you can see with the attached pictures, mine has splines. Tried to twist the spline part off to see about the threads and found there is a WIRE inside the shifter that goes into the steering column...

    they do look similar, but the lower hose diameter is larger for the 8. Thx for the tip for vintage power wagons, no luck there.....

    Thank you for the reply, Dave! Oil pressure line, agreed - simple. Re the windows, how are they routed? In the dorr pillar? Behind the fender? Did not pull the rear wheel yet to see if there is any access there. One posted you could maybe use plastic hose, don't think I'm interested - not well...
