How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

I might be confused too... My thought is that you want to tip the upper control arm and that would tilt the spindle in the correct direction, but I'm also understanding what you are saying.

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

If it don't budge with a 1000 psi when you step on the brake with the pad removed, it's good and stuck. I've drilled and taped the cylinder a couple of times and forced them out with a bolt pushing on the caliper well, but I wouldn't do it again, especially on a hard-to-get caliper. And to much...

I'm seriously considering adding this VIN to the Registry. Maybe a few other tidbits of info might trickle in, too.

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

I believe Cardone was the one rebuilding most of the calipers out there and they are in the middle of something...they reported they were getting away from rebuilding and concentrating on new stuff but now I can't find the article I read last year...I found everything I needed to rebuild mine on...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Oh. Well, I was going by the concentric washers. Thinking that would put the top ball joint behind the lower ball joint. And that would put the tire contact patch behind the ball joint vertical line. And the tire would follow the vertical line and try to go straight, if there is no wind or...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

I still think this is wrong. The rear concentric bolt needs to be at 6:00 and the front at 12:00. What I'm seeing is the opposite. That said, until you get all the adjustments in the ball park, you aren't going to be able to tell much from driving.

    Welcome Mecki to FCBO!

Thanks guys. I'm new to this site but not to Mopars and some other Mopar sites. I have been visiting FABO from time to time as a quest and found some great info here. Noticed theat some members here are also familiar from other Mopar sites and still around. This site seems to be the most active...

the correct temperature sending unit for gage not idiot light

I have run into the same problem a while back. I believe the parts stores are giving out the wrong part number in many cases. What I recall is they have a couple of part numbers that cross over to the correct one. Although they look the same, one has a cold reading of 500 ohms and the other 250...

383 Built with a "Lumpy" cam - Running too Rich - Will Change of Metering Rod Springs Help?

Here's a good video for basic set up and calibration. He has many videos on the Edelbrock carbs. This one is probably the first step.

Might consider registering this over at the Online Imperial Club at Online Imperial Club (OIC) for Imperial, Chrysler Imperial, and Chrysler New Yorker Brougham Enthusiasts. All kinds of information and help from members. Beautiful car by the way. In the process of freshening my 73 as well.

383 Built with a "Lumpy" cam - Running too Rich - Will Change of Metering Rod Springs Help?

Until the OP provides more info I will reserve my comments because there are many variables involved in tuning carter/edelbrock carbs. I have set them up many times for single and twin carbs. The hardest one was setting two up for use on a tunnel ram with a big cam that had extremely low...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

I have done it three ways. On the car, on one side of the car remove the caliper from the rotor, but leave the brake line hooked up, take the pads out and place a block of wood in the caliper so the piston can come almost all the way out. You don't want the piston to come all the way out...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Kingpin inclination. The top ball joint is closer to the car than the lower ball joint. This is called the kingpin angle. This makes the spindle bearing shaft drop when the tires are turned left or right, and rise when the tires are running straight. That makes the car rise when the wheel is...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

What is the "king pin" ? I could google it, but I can imagine the variety of results I'd get. I'm only driving it in a short loop around the (inner city) block. Lets just say there are reasons why I don't want to drive this far from home. I'm keeping speed down to about 25 mph (40 kph)...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

It does. Your pull would indicate a camber bias, except it's not consistent across the steering range. So, you might be right about the box.
