How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

What is the "king pin" ? I could google it, but I can imagine the variety of results I'd get. I'm only driving it in a short loop around the (inner city) block. Lets just say there are reasons why I don't want to drive this far from home. I'm keeping speed down to about 25 mph (40 kph)...

383 Built with a "Lumpy" cam - Running too Rich - Will Change of Metering Rod Springs Help?

As you mentioned "fuel pressure", what kind of fuel pump and at what fuel pressure when running? CBODY67

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

It does. Your pull would indicate a camber bias, except it's not consistent across the steering range. So, you might be right about the box.

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Congrats on buying YM43T3C301093 ! There are lots of FCBO members in Indiana, including @fury fan and @david hill -- both near Indy. PS: is that an Imola Red E46 M3 next to it?

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Top is driver side, red lines through bolts. Bottom is passenger side, yellow lines through bolts. Standing beside each tire looking from above, both arms rotated to the max (driver side rotated CCW, passenger side CW) to move both upper ball joints rearward towards back of car. Does...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

From what Morar Man says, maybe his suspicions about the box may be right. I would expect the wheel to snap to the side if the valve is all the way to the limit. Maybe the next test is to put the control arms on jack stands and start the car and see what happens.

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible in Winchester VA (white paint, T-code)

CM27T0C212414 was originally FT6 Burnt Tan Metallic but is now white. Very nicely equipped. From the ad: "unmolested car, other than a repaint from bronze to white back in the 80’s. 440, auto, ps, pdb, p-top, a/c, cruise, power windows, and extremely rare am/fm/8 track. The leather interior is...

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler Newport Convertible 383 strong - $1,500 (Virginia Beach)

CE27L0C176232 is again for sale on CL in Virginia Beach, VA. The engine bay has been cleaned up a bit, but it sports the same rust spots --> it is the same car. Two new pics:

    Stressed 65 Fury

I love the restomod look and the reliability/availability of modern engine/transmission combinations. So this is likely the route I’ll take if the 318 isn’t rebuilt.

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

That's what I thought. But the passenger side looks to me like the top ball joint has been moved as far back as possible? That's max caster.

    Stressed 65 Fury

That is a good idea. I am still doing some research with the previous owner who is trying to help where he can. He is obviously not as motivated as I am to get this solved. In the meantime I’m pulling the engine (seized Poly 318) and itemizing parts. Obviously the numbers matching ship has...

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

My issue is I can't get the piston to extend, so I don't now how I'd get it out once I get it "on the bench". Is there a technique for that?

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Offhand, by looking at these pics, the adjustment bolts look like they are set for minimum castor. It is hard to see in the pic, so I may be wrong, but it sure looks like you've set the eccentric bolts so the front is tipped down and the rear tipped up. Both eccentrics would need to be turned 180°

Fascinating story! I'd love to have some Registry data and a little history about it. Maybe that information will float into this thread someday. One car at a time.....

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

What MONC440 said. I rebuilt mine. Easy peasy, and good to go. However, if you are doing a drum-to-disc conversion and don't have the factory calipers from the donor vehicle, finding calipers will be difficult as you have discovered. If that is the case, I wish I could help you.
