    Ammeter bypass

Right. Maybe I'm dumb because I seem to keep forgetting the original context was the Dodge truck ammeters burning and not the car ammeters. In any case, your recommendations are great for cutting through all the misconceptions built up over the decades and I think the three points I summarised...

    Bastardized 1959 "Coronet" build

Wouldn't even necessarily have to be stainless, even a body color band might do. Absolute crazy thought --- illuminated plexiglass band. Like edge lit, or something. Is that even a thing? Just me and the cat home now. Sometimes the mind wanders into strange territory while otherwise unoccupied.

    Torsion Bar Problem

Very good suggestion, Jeff. Easy mistake to make. It seems "normal" to most folks to get everything back in place, with the arms hanging down, and tighten those shaft nuts. Even when you read the FSM it's not at all clear the reason for having full weight on the tires when you tighten 'em.

courtesy lights - bench seat cars?

Thanks for the tip. Did you covert your 4 flood lights for the instrument cluster to led? I think I just need to clean them up and new bulbs even original incandescents will brighten them up.

    Torsion Bar Problem

Adjusting torsion bars can be tricky. One side can affect the other more than you would think. It's always best to measure the length of the adjusting bolt protrusion before taking anything apart, so you can get everything back to where it was. If before you took the car apart, the driver...

    Coverting 440 A/C to NON A/C

All the brackets and pulleys are different between A/C and non-A/C. Get a complete matching set as trying to mix and match doesn't usually end well. Usually the P/S can swap over if you get the correct crank pulley, but the rest can't be re-used. Diameters and offsets are all different. Even the...

courtesy lights - bench seat cars?

Same as yours- just the housing and the slots in the panel that let the light shine through. I found my old map light with a butchered harness on it and it didn't have a lens either, and the NOS map light I bought didn't have one. I useds these warm white LEDs in the dome light and map light...

You should check your float level and the small bowls glued to bottom of the float bowl while it's open.
