    Front suspension rebuild?

Well I did replace the front springs in my F-100 and found that the old springs were both the same size when, in reality, the springs are slightly different in height from the factory. As to the Ford vs Chrysler when trying to put it into words I would say the Ford drives as though it is a...

Water pump replacement/air conditioning bypass or fix

The alternator belt was not routed around the idler, I made that drawing in a hurry so it’s rather confusing. The pulley on the a/c spins freely as does the clutch, but I can check the condition of the bearings later. As I said I have no idea what the condition of the compressor is internally...

    Transmission gaskets.

Yes, great point. On the second attempt to repair the leak I added UV dye and fixed the leaks from the speedometer cable, under the trans mount and around the dip stick. If you have a picture to elaborate on this rod that would be awesome. That said, I don't want to hijack this thread just...

    Transmission gaskets.

Lots of times when you get in a situation like that its not the gasket. There is a rod in the back just above the rail that can leak and make it look just like a gasket leak. Been there, done that.

Wouldn't the Chevy New Yorker have a 409 in it and the Chrysler Impala would have the 413?

    Transmission gaskets.

My experience with my '68 300 has not been great when it comes to the transmission pan gasket. I have had the pan off several times to try and stop the leaks from the gasket. Cork, Mopar rubber, cork with a light coating of silicone, Mopar rubber gasket with silicone. Every time it has...

    Front suspension rebuild?

I would stay away from the poly bushings all together. When I rebuilt mine about 15 years ago I used all rubber and it is still driving like a new car. I know of a few guys who used poly bushings and they were not happy with the results and the extra work it took to install them. Contact Craig...

    Front suspension rebuild?

Your Ford products are all body/frame vehicles. Ford paid extra attention to sound control from 1965 onward in their full-size cars. Harder to do on a UniBody Chrysler product without large amounts of under-carpet padding and such and the 1970 Torsion-Quiet Ride items. One main issue with the...
