I'm curious about the exact car model this would have been for. My '67 Monaco has a ball swivel built into the mounting base, this one has a fixed arm. Mine has night/day buttons on the bottom, I don't see any buttons on this one?

It's not. For the map and ignition switch light, there might be the plug, usually a multiple female with 3 connectors, that the wiring for those lights will plug into. Some time with the FSM is in order. Hint: If you have a digital edition, print out the pages. Paper edition, make copies...

I know if I just started to tear into my dash, I would probably get my answer but..... 67 Fury II, is it likely the existing wire harness is pre wired for a map light and ignition switch light (pigtails)? Doubt if the fender signals would be but that's a lot more wiring.

yes...you can unplug the wire to the compressor clutch to assure it doesn't try to kick in...thats how mine was running for the last 20+ years...finally rebuilt the compressor this summer
