I have not replaced the master cylinder. I just changed the calibers and brake hose. Could it be the master cylinder or brake booster or peripheral valve?

That's great information Mccabe, thank you. Discovered it was an aftermarket power brake booster making that odd noise. It works fine except for the noise. I just posted the update on another post titled "has anyone see a brake booster like this?" This forum helped me figure it out. :)

Whose 4-whl disc brake kit is on the car? Might there be an issue with "hard linings" rather than boosted pressure? Dual diaphram booster? On the OEM hydroboost pickups I've driven, I was always impressed with the firmness of the pedal (compared to similar vehicles with vac power brakes)...

I think so, can you post a pic of it? Can you confirm if your imperial is a disc brake car, otherwise if its power drums I cannot use it. I know there are differences between imperials disc spindles rotors and calipers but the boosters should be the same.

Just checked RockAuto and they are "Out of Stock" on power drum and power disc brake boosters. Including the "Cardone" brand and others. All of them. Might have to take what you can get.

I will get some pics later today. All 69 imperials are disc brakes. I just don’t know if a 69 imperial PB booster is the same as 68 Plymouth? Do you need pedal assembly also. Aren’t some proportion valves needed also

@SF-66TC Perhaps it's day-late/$-short to say this, but you should advise the new owner of your T&C to change that drum-brake booster out for a disc-brake booster.
