What is the function of this spring in a bucket seat

Looks like it might be a mis-placed/hidden rh seat recliner spring mechanism? The actual recliner pivot mechanism would be at the base of the seat back, with the spring mechanism giving it the motion so it didn't flop backward uncontrollably when the recliner was adjusted. Obviously, it's...

    Bastardized 1959 "Coronet" build

C pillars repaired. Rain gutters are going to stay and get extended onto the Corvette Targa top. Lexan goes in tomorrow (assuming I can cut it without screwing it up LOL)... Rear "glass" trim will go back on. I REALLY like it! Top and bottom trim. no problem... Side/upper corner, problem as...

    69 polara trunk mat

The OEM trunk carpet in my Monaco did have serging all around it, factory. Looked really nice, carpet and serge were black. As was the spare tire cover. No cardboard side panels. No vinyl spray backing on the carpet, either. I looked the other night, (seems like it was REM?) and found...

What is the function of this spring in a bucket seat

What is the function of this cylinder with a spring in it, in the bucket seat on the passengers site of an imperial 1971 2 door. It has a lever, when you pull it apparently nothing happens? Can somebody enlighten me?

    69 polara trunk mat

If I recall the trunk carpet from ACC had sewn edges on them, but the problem with their carpeting I found was you couldn't purchase a single piece of trunk carpeting that would cover the entire floor. Two were needed. The factory carpet was one piece. As for the edges, I didn't do anything to...

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

Thanks for that. That gives me something to look into. My original PS gear was still bolted to the pitman arm, center link AND idler arm when I moved them as a unit to the new stub frame. I think the idler arm felt stiff, but I don't know if I tightened it in the center position. I have 3...

1966 Fury III - Unfinished Project

I'm still here. I started the Plymouth the other day, which did fire up on all cylinders, surprisingly. It's currently a storage shed for some engine pieces. If this winter is mild I need to get back to finishing up the trunk floor and a few other bodywork niknaks.

    69 polara trunk mat

Didn't need to do anything with the edges. Auto carpet doesn't fray or come apart on the edges easily and being in the trunk, you aren't dragging your feet across the edges or things like that. You can sew a vinyl edge on it, or maybe even get a home carpet place to serge the edge. Mine has...
