Hello from germany / 440 New Yorker

Here are specs from a couple of sellers. More Information for CARLSON H5017 I used the original part number and came up with same part you have. Raybestos has no specs listed, but I am sure all three venders are selling same part. Might be that your old pins are incorrect, I don't have a set off...

    Fuel Pump Issues need diagnosis

Howdy folks, I recently began restoring a '66 Monaco 500 w/ 440 It's rough looking, but a California body, so worth restoring. My first goal was to get it started. With gas fed into the carb, it runs well - for about 10 seconds. I put in a bypass fuel tank, but there was no suction. I replaced...

    Welcome, Topless

I have a 69 Fury 3 convertible, I'm trying to get together for my daughters wedding next month, the "get away car". Need a drivers door panel, preferably red, and a wiper motor mechanism, a wing window handle, a "boot cover" for top. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there. I am trying to find a solid complete project 1965 Monaco witch AC, console and bucket seats (power windows would be really nice). I want to restore it with my dad for him. Without him I wouldn’t have my Duster and same for my brother and his Swinger. Show me what you have got or...

    Bastardized 1959 "Coronet" build

Did a few small things yesterday.. Found and fixed a rattle from one of the tailpipes. Added a catch basin, if you will, around the fuel filler cap. I modified the filler so now I can get the gas station nozzle in there without using an additional nozzle from a gas can. Auto shutoffs are still...

    Horn repair worth the trouble?

Have you tried adjusting the horns? There should be a small hex-head style screw sticking up from the housing, near the center of the mechanism. Sometimes, moving that screw can affect output. The FSM mentions it, with a picture. Just a thought, CBODY67

    Horn repair worth the trouble?

Several years ago I met a retired school teacher at his booth at the West Bend WI. January swap meet. The guy is Gary Wise and he restored vehicle horns. He restored my '59 Imperial horn for $15. Now I would suggest calling him to get current pricing etc. His home phone is 262-353-9637 and a...

    “Easy” oil change drain plug

The 2 cons for me are: 1. Some sediment and oil will remain in the oil pan since the drain hole is slightly higher now 2. Slower draining My lawn mower engine has something similar, but it's plastic, and I have to go find the hose for it when it's time to drain the oil. It's mounted...

(Another) 383 2 bbl to 4 bbl conversion thread, anyone got a parts list?

Goddamn...had to use a plier wrench to break it loose. Not even a 3/8" drive 19mm socket was thin enough to clear the protrusions around the fitting, not sure how I wasn't able to fit a 19mm open end wrench over it. But I got it loose in the end. So it appears that the little bump on each fuel...

    1960 Plymouth Fury

After I retired from my business, I worked for Lexus. If a car had the keys locked in it, they had a little air bag that you would put between the windows after prying open a little with a hard plastic bar. The bag would pump up and separate the window enough to open the door. I doubt it would...

I use this. Without it I get some pinging. I have 11.2 compression. With it, no pinging at any RPM.

    Horn repair worth the trouble?

Have old horns from my 68' 300. They are in creped condition and sickly sounding. Has anybody successfully reconditioned these horns? I have viewed some Youtube video's on this but none specific to the Spartan or Prestolite horns. I see you can get aftermarket for maybe $20 plus dollars...
