Is the torqueflite an inferior design from a thrust-washer pov?

It's not that the washers aren't big and strong, it's that their mere presence means oil getting sheared by them? And maybe not just 1 or 2 of them? That there's a better way if you want to avoid that? I guess in the big picture it's not a really big deal, but someone threw it out there.

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

Yeah most likely the more expensive cars had them available.. I've never seen them on the lesser Dodge or Plymouth cars in 58.

Is the torqueflite an inferior design from a thrust-washer pov?

The thrust washers haven't been a problem since the first 727 in 1962. Again the cheysler trust washer are wide and beefy. I've pulled some trans pans off for a fluid change and half a thrust washer is laying in the pan. Yes newer (mid 1990's and up) transmissions seem to use Torrington...

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

1958 Chrysler 300 an outside mirror was strictly an option according to the brochure. 1958 300 had an option remote mirror. I have a car with one on it. And it's on the IBM card for the car.

    The pursuit special rides again

I put the thermoquad that I've been super-tuning for my 318 on the car after I got the bugs out of it and it woke it up big time, it loves the 400 engine even though it's an '81 small block carb. I also changed the old plugs and wires for solid core accels and non resistor J12YC champion plugs...

    Outside Remote mirrors in 1958?

Did Mopar cars even have a remote outside mirror in 1958? While doing some research, I cannot confirm this. It looks like the remote outside drivers funder-mount mirror did not debut until 1959 (fall of '58 for '59 models). -Gregg B.

What are you working on today??

I gave in and got my convertible and my Barracuda prepped and ready for winter. California Car covers with a cheap plastic cover sourced on Amazon. We have a lot of dust in the winter and the disposable covers keep it off the good covers. Plastic bags are rubber banded over the tail pipes to...

Is my new build doomed because I bought a flat tappet?

I contacted the place I bought the cam and lifter kit with the pictures and they said not to use them and I have another set in the mail from them. Hopefully they look better. I also called comp cams and sent the pictures and they just remained neutral and said I should decide myself. pretty...

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler Newport convertible in Germany (original yellow paint under the brown wrap)

I wasn't saying that it wasn't a white interior, saying that it has been sprayed white. My Imperial had that done, it took a week of cleaning with acetone to get it off. I am fortunate that my original leather, plastic and vinyl were all good under the paint, just very dirty.
