  1. Trace 300 Hurst

    The Hurst Registry

I had to chuckle about "I was not keeping track of the numbers in the 90s". I removed and tossed that annoying fender tag thingy from a few of my Mopars in the 70s and 80s because shop rags and fingers would get caught on those razor-sharp corners. Besides, nobody cared about the mumbo-jumbo of...

FANTASTIC! I will be adding your former car to the Registry and will be posting a new document in a week or so. I'm waiting on some other info to come in on some other cars before I do that. I've met Al and Gloria Moon, and many members here know them well. Nice people. I believe her...

    The Hurst Registry

We LOVE Hurst stories here, and pics would be outstanding! And yes, Console, 8-Track, ATC, Tilt, and Cornerings makes for a loaded car. Makes me think it was an ordered car--maybe by a dealership's owner--instead of the typical Sales Bank cars like mine was. Very cool.

Having a photo of the Fender Tag and the Door Sticker (showing the date) would be greatly appreciated. If getting a photo is not possible, perhaps the current owner can simply tell you the VIN, and the date on the door sticker. From your Broadcast Sheet photo from Post #14, back in May 25...

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst

Just the C16 console. No A12 on FTag (typical of the 19XXXX VINs). Otherwise, just like the rest of 'em. Oh....TRAILER HITCH!!
  6. Trace 300 Hurst

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst

I have this car in the Registry with a VON, but no Door Date. @ayilar is reaching out to the seller for it. I'd love to have it, because it's right where it could be a March or April car. I'm guessing April.

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst

I see your point, but even those two things are a lot of work, certainly the interior. And.....you're gambling on the tip of the iceberg. Do the brakes work while you're driving the snot out of it? :wideyed:
  8. Trace 300 Hurst

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst

That's exactly the problem. We've talked here about the "step function" cost of bringing a Hurst back from the dead because this is a car that doesn't lend itself to making it a just a "driver" It's all or nothing. Patina is not good. And after all that cost and work and headache, you can't...

Have you tried these vendors? I think RT Specialties has everything. https://www.rtspecialties.net/ https://www.partsmix.com/ https://www.megapartsusa.com/

    NOT MINE 300 Hurst.

That's great information and much thanks for sharing it. I'll put out an updated Registry (in this thread The Hurst Registry ) in a few days when I get done sifting some other data. Deleting the private messages is definitely a bit of a hassle. Let me see if I can talk you through it. Click...

    NOT MINE 300 Hurst.

Oh yes, I’ve been seriously schooled by someone who actually knows what he’s talking about. And now I’m on eggshells when I post something about assembly lines and production schedules because I know who’s watching. :wideyed:
  12. Trace 300 Hurst

    NOT MINE 300 Hurst.

Noah, can you give us your Door Sticker date? I'm guessing it's June 1970 but it could be May. Those dates are one of the key efforts of the Registry in an attempt to determine the "batches" that went to and from the Hurst facility. We need a lot of data from a lot of cars to eventually...

Miss Hurst? On a Hurst shirt? More WOW!

@noah300g Here's a link to the Registry thread if you haven't found it yet. I recall now that you were talking about a pinstripe kit a few months ago...I should have pinged you and asked about your Hurst. https://www.forcbodiesonly.com/mopar-forum/threads/the-hurst-registry.85514/

  16. Trace 300 Hurst

    NOT MINE 300 Hurst.

You'll soon be in the Registry! Can you give a picture of your Fender Tag and your Door Sticker, which shows the VON and manufacturing date respectively, please? That is key info to the Registry, along your description of console, tilt, radio etc. And what is the condition of your car...

    The Hurst Registry

The red in the stripe isn't as red as the grille, which was REALLY red, so maybe it's a camera thing. And the red grille could very likely be a replacement (or a partial replacement and subsequent removal of the remaining SB Yellow on the original parts) from a regular 300 due to front end...

But you don't have to deal with @ayilar when he interrogates me with "DO YOU HAVE THIS ONE?!"
  19. Trace 300 Hurst

    NOT MINE 300 Hurst.

Those two VINs with SPD are not Hursts, correct? Your point about 194402 a likely February build......but getting a March Door Date once back from Hurst is probably the case. Good observation and I shouldn't have said "March build", but March Door. So does this give a window into a 2-4 week...
