    Non-Mopar Wagon I Picked Up

I originally posted about this wagon wanting to pass on the original tires to someone's perfect car. 75LandYacht inquired more about it, and I figure others might be interested too. It's a 1978 Ford LTD Wagon, started out life as a "promotional" car. Used by Ford to send different places to show...

Gas always splashes out at the pump

1972 Newport. Every time I fill her up with gas, a little bit splashes out when the tank is full. The pump doesn't kick off fast enough. If I listen real close I can hear when it gets near the end and slow down, but it seems to always not stop until it comes out. Is there any remedy for this?

    Mystery hole in basement wall

Anybody care to take a stab at what this might be for? House was built in 1910. White paint put on the wall in the mid 80s. Its just a mysterious hole in the wall. Not much else to say. Its right next to where a giant gravity furnace used to be. It had a bunch of t shirts stuffed in it, with a...

    Any carpet experts here?

Asking here because I have heard so many different opinions from other people. I have early 70's two tone shag carpet. The pad has turned into nothing but dust, so it feels like walking on the hardwood floor underneath it. I want to buy a new pad, but I'm unsure what weight or kind to buy. I've...

    Maytag repair thread

As suggested in "remember when" here is the maytag repair thread. No work done yet, so here are some pictures. These workhorses are from 1974. And have worked without service until the heating element died in the dryer. I just moved them back upstairs and don't have them hooked up yet, but the...

    An interesting read

Reading about what is going on in the world, I ran across this. Just reading the title makes me wonder how nuts this guy must have been. Man smiles, says 'Let's rock' before dying in electric chair

    Build Sheets

I saw a thread about someone finding their build sheet, so I will post this on here for those that haven't found theirs. Theyare very commonly on the underside of the seats, that's where I found mine. It's even possible to find one from a different car, so be careful! They are also commonly...

    Remember when?

My grandma still "starches" her clothes in the sink, she said it was commonplace before the 50s. She does all her laundry by hand, washing, starching, ironing, and hanging on a clothes line to dry. Her clothes always look perfect, but feel like cardboard. Does anyone else remember shirt sleeves...

    Things Millenials find funny...

Today a group of millenials saw the keys to my Newport and burst into laughter... I still don't relize what was funny, they said it looked like a P.O. box key. first thing I heard was "where are the buttons?"

Anybody else have an antique house?

Our house was built in the late 1800s and has a ton of "Jim fixes" aka slap up whatever you have laying around, and hope it works. Haha I was just wondering if anybody else has to deal with a home where someone from the past thought they were a home improvement expert!

    Car covers

I couldn't find a particular thread for things like this. I bought a 72 Newport and surprise! it's too big to fit in our garage. After doing research most car covers around here are not big enough for this enormous car. Anybody know of a place where I can get a cover for a 72 newport? Thanks...
