    You are running into the same problem I'm having with an upcoming 273 build. That is the gaskets are made for a larger engine so they will fit anything out there. In your case, a 440 engine is 4.320" and a 400 engine is 4.342 (stock bores) while your .030 over 383 is 4.280". In my case, the...

    Upper ball joints

    Thanks, I ended up tack welding them. They did torque to spec, but very loose going most of the way in.
