They are the same car. Bill bought the car with the aftermarket/dealer installed vinyl top already on it. It's been something he's wanted to remove for as long as he's had the car. The invitation to the show was the excuse he needed to finally rip it off and bring the car back to original.

    Heavy Metal

Meant to push heavy metal, but alas, it was not to be. This is the monstrous General Electric GE4 turbojet, the most powerful jet engine of its era. This beast was almost 30 feet long and had a thrust output of 63,000 lbs with after afterburner. To put that into perspective, that is three times...

It's @billyfury GT. Star of the show imo. I'm so glad they were able to bring it there! Bill & his son did an amazing job getting it ready for the Tuxedo Display. Notice the aftermarket vinyl top has been removed.

Original style carpet for 1970 300 convertible?

My '65 300L rear carpet. I took this pic before trimming because I was thinking of the convertibles and 4 dr sedans as we've discussed it a bit on here.

I pulled the 383 out of my 66 windsor

IMHO, that's a bad gamble. At least get some plasti-gauge and check a few. Have you checked your ring gap before you started assembling the crank?

Original style carpet for 1970 300 convertible?

I really don't know. The one in my car was from Trim Parts before they closed. I did put a new carpet from ACC in my '65 300L. That carpet had enough extra in the back seat platform (or whatever you would call it) area. The problem has been they didn't give you enough extra to cover the area...

I pulled the 383 out of my 66 windsor

I sourced another bearing local. $30 mistake. I did not check clearance I'm gambling that since the crank is untouched except a polish. It should be good. other than this last rod, they move freely side to side.

I pulled the 383 out of my 66 windsor

What you did was scuff the coating of the bearing. I don't remember you saying what type of bearings you are using. It's probably OK, but I think you may be better off replacing that bearing. I'm actually surprised that it bolted together at all, but since it did, I'd be concerned with how...
