Do you hear any vacuum noise from the switch when you change modes? I can hear it on mine.

Have you had any experience or seen any reviews on htis reproduction? I can't find any meaningful reviews on it. I assume that with the part number they use on it, that it will run the compressor in defrost mode...which is ok with me. Still waiting to hear back from OER about how it...

So it looks like my NOS switch is bad....so the blower is supposed to run all the time. I guess that's okay, but the compressor should not be running in "HEAT" and "OFF" modes as my NOS switch is doing. I guess I just need another switch. Still waiting to hear from OER about the repro switch...

I read somewhere that the vacuum "T" on the intake manifold...where the brake booster and the small vacuum hose that feeds the vacuum reservoir...can get restricted with debris. I used a short piece of wire to ream out the T where the small hose connects....don't know if it helped or not, but...

The only good thing about the NOS switch is that the vacuum actuators now have full travel....before they were only moving maybe a quarter of an inch or so.

Sounds like we have the very same issue with the NOS switches. I emailed OER that makes the repro switch and asked them in what modes the blower and compressor are energized. I haven't heard back yet, but will post here when I do.

My original was 3431020 and the NOS one I bought was the very same number. Is your compressor and blower energized all the time with your new switch? I can understand it being on for the DEF mode, but not in "OFF". My original switch shut off the compressor and blower in the "OFF" mode.

What part number was on your NOS switch?

Wouldn't that be if the system was the Automatic Temp Control AC option? Mine is the basic manual temp control version. Maybe this NOS switch is just defective.

Was your compressor energized even in the "OFF" switch mode? Mine is with this NOS switch assembly...same part number stamped on it as yours.

I bought an NOS vacuum switch on eBay, part #3431020...for my '70 Suburban non-ATC wagon. The vacuum part now works great, but the AC compressor and blower motor stay on all the time regardless of what mode button is depressed. I've heard that Chrysler did that on purpose in some later years...

I wasn't thinking about going with the pre-70 4 piston setup....that stuff is crazy rare and expensive. Besides my '69 Fury that has those, I also have a '68 Roadrunner with them. The 70 style calipers is what I want to go with on the wagon.

I just finished the Hot Rod Power Tour in my '70 Plymouth Suburban. We did about 1800 miles in a week, and I have a new appreciation for having confidence in brakes. My unrestored 383 wagon has factory power drums already, and I'm considering discs for the front. I have some B and E bodies...

We're having a blast! Out of the thousands of cars we've only seen four C bodies...and ours is the only C wagon. 1200 miles so far and the old 383 hasn't missed a beat.. We're in Concord NC today and head for the last stop tomorrow in Bristol TN.

Yeah, I could do that, and might temporarily....but....with my decades long involvement with B and E bodies....my natural inclination is to keep them as close to 100% stock as I can!

Okay, great to know! I guess I'd just not closely watched the belts on an idling RV2 compressor before. I got these from NAPA several years ago and not as a matched set. They have been probably 1500 miles at least with no issues at all. Of course, that was all with a totally dead AC system...
