    We've lost Locumob - Scott.

It was said somewhere in this thread that he worked swing shift. I know that routine all too well, have done it 2 different times over the years, one being 12 hr shifts and the other place was 8s, I remember having too many close calls driving home after being on nights... I usually made sure...

    We've lost Locumob - Scott.

Yikes. I mostly seen him and his posts on the "trucks only" site and occasionally on FABO as I admit I honestly don't come on this one as much as I probably should

72 Fury III 4dr Got my mojo back! Wrenching again...and I have QUESTIONS

It seems that of the small blocks from back in the 70s I've seen more sludged up 360s than 318s for some reason but that rust.. that's a different story. In the busted thermostat housing bolt is be threading a nut on it as best as I could and get the mig out and weld it to the stub. And yes...

No C body "should" have a 904. As heavy of a car as they are they need the heavy duty -ness of a 727.....

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

I use either Indian Head or Aviation seal or even Hi Tack on many places but I try to avoid using anything besides a gasket on a trans pan.

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

It's not a secret I just don't know it off the top of my head. I think it's listed in one of my ATSG trans overhaul books, I do have an a500 sitting here that I have to go thru and get a pan gasket for anyway I'll look when I get home. I can't tell you how many idiots I've seen where the they...

727 trans pan gasket that doesn't leak??

YES they are available for a 904. And yes the a500/42rh/re and 44rh/re were available in more than just v6 and non magnum 318s. They were in many 318 magnum equipped vehicles. And every one of those transmissions had the same kind of pan gasket. That said I've seen a few transmissions lately...

Filled my rebuilt engine with 6 quarts including filter and dipstick says 1 qt low.

when you drain the engine you dont always get it all out. with a fresh engine that starts out totally dry, its not unusual to have to put in a little more than you would on just an oil change.

    best carburetor

The only Holley carbs I've ever had even decent luck with were the 2210and 2245 also the 2 bbl ones they replaced the bbd with. And even the 2210/2245s have been a crapshoot, as to whether they would run worth a ****.

    best carburetor

How about a TQ???? I've had good luck with them on a cruiser . For a 1/4 miler not sure. I've also had good luck with AFB/Edelbrock except: On a couple of them with afb's, when in hot weather especially/, I have had trouble with fuel percolating when I would shut them down and went to restart...

    318 or 360, 727 or 904

I wouldn't do an adapter. If you want to run the 2 bbl as the 360s did simply swap to a 360 intake. I've do e that before on an otherwise stone stock 318. Problem is that particular Holley is "feast or famine"... If you get a good one it's really good, otherwise they're crap. I've rebuilt my...

    2024 Hot Rod Power Tour

Long hauled in 09, that year ended in Bristol too. Then did 3 stops in 10. Both in my fury I still have "but it's a b body" not a "c". There was a '75-76-ish c body Both years whose owner was wanting any and all participants to autograph it. I couldn't find my 1st year one the 2nd time around...

    Mixing brands?

I took have yet to own anything but rwd or 4x4. Have never owned a front (wrong) wheel drive of any kind since I hate working on them for others when they come in for service. Whoever decided to turn the engine sideways in the engine compartment should be hung....

    What is your daily driver?

Then we still have the 01 Durango, with it's 314k miles on it and 360 magnum (an engine they should still have in current day dodges along with the companion 318s I love the 318)... It'll be on the road again as soon as I get the money for the trans overhaul parts..... Hopefully in about 2 weeks

    What is your daily driver?

Don't think I'll ever be able to afford something "less than 10 years old" again.... We just bought the 03 Durango this past veterans Day, I can buy 15-20 similar vehicles for the price of 1 new one. Nothing new interests me anyway. I wish they would bring out the tooling and remake early 70s A...

    Mixing brands?

Yeah I know the "everything breaks" thing. I started with Mopar and realized quick with my parents having had a mix, and having an oil filter that would fit Mom's olds on the shelf but not one to fit dads Plymouth wagon.. I started with a 76 charger, bought a 75 cordoba when the charger got t...
