They are held in with a dozen or so screws. best done with the top detached. I was able to remove mine with the top on (fully attached) but was not easy. We needed to detach the top to do bodywork so that made it easy(er) to put them back on. Alan

VERY EASY to remove! Just untie the laces, unbuckle the little straps and pull 'em off! In truth, I want to sew supplemental straps onto mine to better keep them in place! I need to replace the back seat also. Any decent back seat for a '67-68 convertible, and maybe as eaarly as '65 will do...
