    Heater core hoses

Yes. Thank you. I definitely don’t want to stress a 56 yr old heater core. I’ll flush it soon. Just need time n temps above about 40. Pouring out the old coolant, from gallon jugs at the recycling center, I noticed the mud/rust didn’t really drain out. I had to really shake the jugs to pour...

    Heater core hoses

Just an update for anyone following. It's 29F here. Put cardboard in front of the radiator today and drove 12 miles, mostly at highway speeds( Yes, I was on the highway. Ha) Engine temp reached about 150 or 160. I know this temp from the other night, running the engine in the drive way...

    Heater core hoses

Update. Pulled out the thermostat and it's working fine. My radiator fan is a non-clutch type, so it's always spinning/pulling air. Sat in my driveway, when it was 45F outside, and ran the car for 25 minutes and the thermostat never opened. Engine never reached 180F to open thermostat...

    Heater core hoses

CBODY67, Thank you for taking your time to help. No Dexcool in it. I put in a new aluminum 3 core in March of 2023. I'll flush it one day very soon and leave in the heater control valve, then use 50/50 coolant. But doesn't the sliding temp control, inside passenger compartment, keep the...

    Heater core hoses

I corrected the hoses. Since my car no longer has AC, can or should I bypass the heater core valve? I'm having separate issue with the coolant. In the rad it was nice and green. The coolant/water that came out of the heater core and heater control valve was Really a mud brown. I bypassed...

    Heater core hoses

Hello all, My 68 Fury III with 383 is Not putting out good/hot air from the heater core and also the temp gauge, for the engine, barely touches the Normal Operating Range in the gauge. I've only seen the gauge ever hit mid-range was in the heat of the summer at red lights. I'm going to put...

    Trans Fluid drain plug leaking

I changed the trans fluid, in my 68 Fury with a 727, last year but it's leaking a bit. Not much at all but it's not fun putting cardboard or bucket or something under the car every time. I'd like to take out the drain plug and seal it better BUT I'd rather drain all the fluid. Anyone have a...

    1968 Fury- new here

Look great but where do the slides actually go? I ask because my heater temp control is hard to slide across. I have to grab it with vice grips. I tried lubing as much as I could but it didn't really help. Lubed the adjustment section that sits behind the glove box. Easy to find since I don't...

    Reverse light switch.

I got mine at Saturday. A little difficult to install with column in the car but I did it with a c-clamp. Was nervous about breaking it but it worked. I'd like to see it a little easier to push metal pin in but I'm sure the creators already tried that.
